My hope is that they're paying per view of the ad, since I'd guess that a fair proportion are viewing it from places that have never heard of whatever it is, and whatever he's talking about.

I could ad-block it, but I'd rather The Chive get money from them so they don't have to resort to even worse advertising tactics to break dollar one just yet.

Nope, you don't get it I suspect.

It wasn't about the trick at all, but about how pretty much everything you were looking at changed and you (possibly) didn't notice. And I'm guessing you didn't notice because you were wasting energy shouting at your monitor about the cards going out of shot.

That was soo fake….The fact that he has a Jack facing up at the end of the deck before "Sarah" is conviently focused on and then it's a 7 when he swaps the deck why the cameras away….just horrible.

It's not a card trick, it is an example of change blindness. The cards were to throw you off. Seems like it worked too well.

This is actually a political science lesson. Based on many of the comments here, the lesson was lost on some. Every time you see a politician throwing a hissy fit on TV about some little issue that will surely spell the end of the republic, look to see what is changing in the background.

Wow. Can't believe so many Chivers didn't get this. Yes, the card trick was obvious, but did you all catch the shirt and background changes? This is almost as good as the invisible gorilla. Essentially the same point is made: misdirection can cause you to miss a lot.

I just think it's very poorly executed. Right from the start you see the green shirt on the chair to her left.
And you can see his previous shirt under the new one in the collar area. It had the potential to be, but nothing amazing here.
