        • ewp

          Is this just fantasy?

          • special agent K

Well wherever it is, don't get caught in a landslide.

            • suck me dry

              no escape from sucking meeeee

  • @DrDrai1122

#4 False. Snoop Dogg's house and Willie Nelson's touring bus are tied for the highest points in North America.

    • rdpre

Just because they smoke a lot of weed does not mean they are higher than everyone else. In fact, I would argue that one who does not smoke as frequently will achieve a greater high than the habitual smoker.

      • Beavis

Way to kill a funny joke….'tard.

        • rdpre

          But it wasn't funny.

          • @McBeastie666

            nice buzzkill, narc.

    • JimmyB

Hey, whats brown and rhymes with Snoop?

    • Cuthbert

Are we at the point where we can start shooting people for adding hashtags to comments? Please?

      • @JJrrake

        Haha you guys! #whatasicklad

    • RUguy

i wish i was that high

    • rdpre

Wow, good for your brother. No one cares.

      • Anon

It is pretty cool actually but be a loser.

      • James

Just what have you seen or done in your life that qualifies you to speak for everyone? Personally, I think it's awesome.

    • Raymond Miller

That's awesome! I did Kilimanjaro and now I live in Chile so Aconcagua is close i just can't afford it.

      • Do Tell

Just out of curiousity; how much should you save if you're planning on hoofing it up one of theses mountains? I never thought of it until reading your comment.

    • JimBob

That's nice, show us your boobs! Those are the only mountains you speak of that we care about

      • Shabooms

They're on this website in various locations…;)

        • Acesevens

          Excellent reply. Ignore the trolls.

  • Ravienne_Cullen

  • Chubby

#12 never knew the top looked like this… kinda creepy

    • Dman

      That's tight butthole

    • Anon

      eye ball

  • Bobby Falcon

Since when does Indonesia count as Australia? You Americans, just saying "Close Enough."

    • Mandela

On top of that the insulted the friendly and lovely Indonesian people by labeling them as pig-ignorant, soap-dodging, racist Ozzie bastards.

      • Ben

talk about insults! who's the pig-ignorant one here?! We have one of the most most multicultural societies in the world, having opened our doors to all since the 1960's. If you're talking about the treatment of Aborigines, white Australia has fessed up for the sins of the past long ago. Calling yourself Mandela doesn't give you the right to call others racist (I'm sure the real Mandela would be appalled), especially if you have no idea what you're on about. WANKER!

    • Pesto

If payed attention you would see that it says continents. There are seven major continents. Hence the seven summits. The peak in Papua is part of the oceana or Australian continent. Check it before you wreck it sucka!

    • ry_linch

pesto is technically correct, the australian continent comprises of the mainland, tasmania, New Guinea, aru islands and the raja ampat islands… would of been good to show images of kosciusko tho

  • Jack

    m? What the hell is a m?
Is that like some new coolness scale?

    • dumb americans

      typical retarded american.

    • phunkmunkie

I fear for the future of this country.

    • Necause

Ever heard of the metric system? Royal with cheese ring a bell?

    • @McBeastie666

yes, and you're at negative forty two m's.

  • AstroMikeDexter

Great list, but I think you need to learn the difference between Australia and Australasia.. coming from someone who lives in Australasia, but not Australia.

    • Necause

Ever heard of the metric system? Royal with cheese ring a bell?

      • Necause

        wrong reply!

  • Ben

Highest mountain in Europe is located in Russia?…
[EDIT] sorry my bad didn't see they where talking about continents.

    • rdpre

What did you think they were talking about?

    • Cavalary

Well, I'm not aware of an Europe that could have a mountain and not be a continent. Even the moon is Europa :p

      • Hamlet

Russia is in Asia. It's the largest country in the world and borders China.

        • Ben

A part of Russia is located in Europe

  • Sean

Also Interesting: Everest 8848m/29029 ft (EARTH) Vs. Olympus Mons 27000m/88,580 ft (MARS)
    Sorry I'm a nerd
    That is all

    • rdpre

What does this have to do with the continents of Earth and the mountains that inhabit them? Was this just an attempt to try to prove how "nerdy" you are? Get a life.

      • @McBeastie666

and if that was an attempt to prove how much of a dick you are….good job.

        • rdpre

I don't need to prove it. It should just be assumed.

      • Fred

    • hmm

measured from where? on earth elevation is measured from sea level so what is the base level on mars Olympus Mons is measured from? that would be like measuring Mt Everest from the bottom of the ocean and would make the difference between the two much less.

      • Green Mountain Bot

No, it's more like measuring Everest from its base rather than sea level. Everest isn't even the tallest mountain on earth by that basis (Mauna Kea beats it by over 10,000 ft, and Denali/McKinley is taller as well), let alone the solar system.

    • Julio
  • Jorj

Im pretty sure those Indonesian mountains are in West Papua, which is technically part of the Australian geologic continent (Australian tectonic plate). Just not on the traditional, mainland continent where its Kosciusko.

  • Irl

Nice! My dad has been up 6 of these (and 3/4s of K2 before a shitstorm hit) all without the use of oxygen tanks, and lead the 1st Irish team up McKinley

    • @fchezenko

      up the Irish !!!

      we're fuggin deadly !!!

      • Bill Murray

        at being Englands' bitch.

        • @fchezenko

ain't no-ones bitch now but Germany's !! shook off the Brits a while back…same way US did

  • cambo196

Why have they got there geography wrong, re Australia instead of Australasia? or are they just dumbing it down for the typical sheltered American where geography isn't exactly a strong point

    • DA-YETI

No dumbing down look at the name of the Article: CONTENTS which definition is
-A continent is one of several very large landmasses on Earth. They are generally identified by convention rather than any strict criteria, with seven regions commonly regarded as continents—they are (from largest in size to smallest): Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.[1]

      • The_Dood

Yeah, I was wondering. I went to pretty good schools and there was no mention of an Australasia. We talked about Eurasia, but today is the first I've ever heard of Australasia.

  • Air

Mt. Everest is actually 29,035 was the last recorded height

  • sebastian

Nice pics!!!! But i desagree with the fact the everest is not the highest point in the earth…. #2
The highest point is in Ecuador "Mount Chimborazo" with 20,561 feets above the sea. And you say.. "Wait… what?!?!… That's not higher than everest 29,029 feets".
The fact is the earth its not round…. is ovoid in the ecuator, and if you draw a straight line to the center of the earth… Cimborazo has 3,967.1 miles and the everest 3,965.8 miles.
    FYI =)
    Don't hate me =)

    • phunkmunkie

I'll give you a wrong again… If we are not considering sea level as the base, the tallest mountain, top to bottom, is Mauna Kea in Hawaii… From the ocean floor to the top, it is ~33,000 ft tall. 17,000 feet of that are under water of course…

    • Phil

Yeah but this is based from sea level rather than distance from the Earth's core.

    • hmmm

      and zero fvcks were given

    • @fchezenko

nerd of the day , no doubt

  • sebastian

And Mauna Kea is from the ocean floor (13,796 feet)

    All the data is in:

    again… don't hate me =)

  • ItsMeeJv

#7 Russia is in Asia…not Europe

    • rdpre

Russia is spread across both continents. In fact, the majority of Russia's population resides on the European side of the country. Most of the Asian side is frozen desert.

      • ItsMeeJv

I like frozen desert however I like frozen dessert even more. My favorite is strawberry frozen yogurt.

        • B_Error

Funny comment is funny! Laughed out Loud

    • Buzzin_Neon

actually, russia is both…western russia is considered a part of europe…

      • ItsMeeJv

You are right. So much for that awesome public educational system being awesome and all.

    • ItsMeeJv

Ugh I hate it when I publicly wrong. At least when I'm wrong in private I can pretend I'm right.

  • Kiwi

Glad to see a couple of people who have already pointed out the difference between Australia and Australasia. Everyone else in Australasia (like us kiwis) hate being named as a part of Australia as much as Americans hate being confused with Canadians.

    • Guest

And Canadians hate being confused with Americans.

    • Luke

Why, most kiwis live in Australia anyway!

  • KCCO

This makes me miss cold weather.

  • Ben

Deal with it sheep shagger. When people look at NZ on a map they think "oh it's near Australia" not the other way around. When foreigners hear an Australian accent they don't think "oh, they're a Kiwi. Your Australia's weird little brother, deal with it.

    • Notaflagdragginbogan

Couldn't have said it better myself. Have never met a non mouri kiwi that didn't winge worse than the Poms in my life. Ever. Kooks all of em

  • Buzzin_Neon

after looking at all those pics, it makes me wanna take the sailboat i'm working hard to get to travel to one of the countries here and climb one of those mountains… #inspired

  • NelPit

Now what we need are photos at each of the summits with "Chive On" shirts. You first!

  • SSX

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
