    #17 True!

      I'm worth having…

    • Hendu0705

I'm printing this one and #24 out. I'm in the mIddle of a juice fast and I really want to finish it, but I keep wanting to fall off the wagon fuck I miss hamburgers.

      • luke

nothing good or lasting can come from a 'juice fast'. stop being an idiot.

      • AmetuerNutritionist

I'm pretty sure your body needs more than juice to survive. Eat some veggies and protein before you fall off the life wagon and die.

    • Mark

      Thats what she said.

    • Ghost in the Machine

#17 What about stuff you get for free? I love free shit!

    • Trav1121

This should be the Shopify slogan on Chive shirt sale day. Zing!

  • Jame

Once again, this post blows me away and it does indeed inspire me to be better. Thank you Chive.

he might be able to afford his hobby because he lives with his mother.

      • cels0_o

As long as he's happy does it matter where he lives?

        • dutch

when the point is that he has the finances to afford his hobby, yes it does. he clearly DOES NOT have the finances to afford his hobby if he can't afford his own place.

            Alotta butthurt basement dwellers….

          • Shazam

This picture shows a man in a room holding what looks like a video game or an animated movie . He's surrounded by games, books, and electronics and genuinely looks happy. Do you see his parents in there somewhere? Does it look like a basement? Is there any indication here that he does not live on his own? Can you tell what job he works or doesn't work? Do you know how much money he has? Where's your certainty coming from that he lives with his parents and mooches off of them? People like you should have to pass a test before they're allowed to post on here. Comments are supposed to be fun and witty, not filled with ignorance.

            • cels0_o

              ^ this

    • Froggy

      Perhaps, but family doesn't count…

    • WarpedAcorn

My New Year's Resolution a few years back has been the hardest the actually follow through on. I try really hard not to judge other people that are just doing the things they enjoy, that don't hurt anyone else. I think it all boils down to my want to impress the world around me, and my envy of people who gave up on impressing anyone but themselves. Dollars to doughnuts, this guy is doing something he enjoys.

As for the comments about him not having sex or living with his mom. Those are irrelevant comments with no factual basis whatsoever. Those are comments to discredit a guy who, in the picture, appears happy. And this upsets people who are not happy or envious of seeing someone they consider "less than" themselves. After all, why should someone "less than" you be seemingly happier?

      • that one guy.

even super depressed self-hating people can look happy in a picture now and again. I find it very hard to believe this fat piece of shit who neglects his own health goes to bed happy at night.

        • Bjj W B

          Skinny is beautiful right?

          • Samhedi

            No, but healthy is.

      • Steve

        HEAR HEAR!

      • antitango

I'm not obese, but I'm overweight. My office sits in a basement. The only thing in that office is a computer desk, a small work bench, a few guns, and a flag on the wall. There's only one window in this office. Pictures I take there look very similar to this guy's photo.

Much like Mr. Acorn said above, why would someone think the person is single and living in Mom's basement?

I'm married, have 1.5 kids, am a former Marine (not so lean, not so mean, but still a Marine!), work full time, and enjoy my hobbies of computers, guns, and the law.

This guy is happy, he's not hurting me or anybody else, and some people just find it despicable that someone "less than" them is happier than they are. I would have thought better of my fellow Chivers! Not a very Chiving spirit, folks.

Oh yes, and I own my home.

      • Tru Chiver

BOOOOH logic! chivers don't logic! BOOOOOOOO KCCO

    • trumeth

Anyone of you ignorant pricks talking shit about #1 shouldn't be on this site to begin with. The motto here is KCCO, you can say it all you want, but you aren't practicing it at all.

      • clever handle

"The motto here is KCCO, you can say it all you want, but you aren't practicing it at all."

      • Craigery

Sometimes it seems that the motto around here is "Be macho, bro; don't be a fa**ot."

        • Kristen

You two combine to make one big pile of gay.

    • Sam Malone

Your narrow mind and small penis beat you in the game of life. This dude is harmless and hopefully very happy with his life. Something is drastically wrong in your life, your either to damn dumb to see it or afraid to admit it. Focus on YOU not HIM.

#14 sounds like you're stuck in the friend zone.

    • fexleyFN

I think you're reflecting all over that.

      • http://www.cupcakesbymartha.com MarthaJeane

Probably. Doesn't look like I'm alone though

        • Kristen

Yeah, you've still got that stupid fucking hat.

Once again, this post blows me away and it does indeed inspire me to be better. Thank you Chive.

    • Craigery

Here's one for you: "Only a simpleton thinks that platitudes can change their life."

  • Nuckolls!

Who knew Dr Seuss would translate through the generations so well. Hope the books are still around for my kids!!

    • Guse

Go to the store. Buy the books. Now they're around for however long you'd like.

I still have my childhood copy of Aesop's Fables because I love them.

    • Craigery

To answer your question: Who knew? Everyone who's every read them!

  • mrkerrdontplay

smh i wonder how many people immediately starting posting these as their facebook status

    • And proud of it

      I won't lie, I did.

    • Guest

Yeah, what a shame that would be for people to share inspiration. Smh at you.

      • Craigery

What you call "sharing inspiration" I call "spamming the internet with empty platitudes and other glurge."

  • tv_paul

#17 Just wondering, is this a euphemism for the female orgasm?

    • Lunch_Box

      That's a myth.

      • tv_paul

No, I think a myth is a female moth

        • jEnNy fOo

tranvestite paul so quick, hmmm must work in psychobiology hmmm?

          • tv_paul

Sorry I'm no tranny, just a TV fan. Besides I couldn't afford to be one I'd have to buy two separate wardrobes & I have no fashion sense.

"Never turn off the TV for then it will be too quiet in the house."
"Don't turn off the lights, or it will be dark."
"Don't go without food, or you will be hungry."

Eh, only one of these quotes is actually good. I get what you are saying but most are just cliche.

    #25 awesome

    • who cares

Used to have a coworker that would constantly tell me to just accept things as they were. That pissed me off more than anything, why should I accept things I know that can be improved? The answer is I ignored him and will continue to do that.

  • Boston Rugger

#21 I guess Martin Sheen did see #25

  • Fuhrer D

#10 and #25 are by far the best. I was just telling someone something of that ilk the other day.

    • Shoofly

George Bernard Shaw was also in favor of killing people that didn't benefit a collectivist society. So, there ya go.

  • C2theE

Am I the only one that sees the irony of the Jim Morrison quote? I think real friends would have saved Jim from himself.

    • amrith777

I am a HUGE Doors/Morrison fan and am here to tell you that after reading everything I could get my hands on about him and the band, including John Densmore's book which I highly recommend–I can say with relative certainty that Jim was not only beyond help–he really didn't WANT to be "helped".
In addition to this–if someone is an addict, they must consent to help and avail themselves to it.It's an inside job.In the end–no one is really responsible for us but ourselves.Jim lived (and died) on his own terms.

#1 He also his diabetes and a solid lock on his virginity. Of course he has the finances … he probably still lives at home.

    • Exactly

I was thinking the exact thing.

    • Alex

But if he's happy why would he give a shit?

    • Lunch_Box

You just can't be happy for the guy, huh.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jonathan.lamb.315 Jonathan Lamb

your pretty original calling an overweight nerd a virgin who lives at home…

      • Grammar Nazi

That made no sense. Besides the grammar.

    • Roger Smith

I am sorry that the english language gives you trouble, Macro.
