The albums are transparent, allowing background images to show through. The tree's not on the album cover at all.

UnderDerp, clearly Photoshop magic is going on, that is why there is a transparent album cover floating in the middle of the image.

You want to give me a derp for stating they are different from ones in the past, then fine, but despite the PS magic involved I prefer the older ones that just used regular photography and great angles.

UnderDerp, I gave you a derp for stating the obvious. You get a second derp for saying that you stated something that you really didn't. You said nothing about anything being different than ones in the past, only that PS magic was going on. Try re-reading your post and then give yourself a nice big slap on the forehead.

That said, I do agree that the in-camera shots are better than transposed, but for some of these I don't think the in-camera shots would work as the album cover hides most of the background that would show that it is in the same spot and complete the effect.

Pretty cool in my book. I visit places mentioned in music that I like. Haven't got all that many under my belt, and I don't have a set of cool photos. Keeps me happy though.

Wow..years of seeing the cover of Highway 61 Revisted and I never put it together that Bob was sitting on steps. Guess I assumed he was sitting in a room somewhere, ala Bringing It All Back Home. #9 is without a doubt the best.
