Bill burr and his thoughts on Oprah’s “Most difficult job on the planet” (Video)

0 0

For the record, my mom was a stay at home parent and so I have nothing but love and respect for what they do. That being said, the asshole in me thinks that this rant is hilarious — and mostly true.

Bill burr is grating and annoying

    • kampizi

Are you sure you don't mean he's 100% correct? Sure he talks "grating" but he's a comedian he needs a voice that stands out.

    • Underbaker

Francois, the internet is down at your house and your wife can't get on, tell us how you really feel.

    • Derhurp

Francois is grating and annoying… and reeks of B.O.

    • FO Francois

BULLSHIT!!! Burr is one of the better comedians out there. I was lucky enough to catch his show a couple of years ago and he's fucking hilarious!

  • Jonnycat

They can be a bunch a martyrs at times

  • Verbal_Kint

As a father, I'd have to agree. Raising kids has it's challenges, but to call raising kids the most difficult job in the world is laughable. I'd be a full time stay at home dad in a second over some of the shit gigs I've had, and they weren't even that bad in the grand scheme of things.

    • upy3rz

Completely agree. I'd gladly trade in my shit job to stay at home with my kids.

    • GernBlansten

Word. If I didn't have to pay for all this shit, I'd love to stay at home with my kids all day. They're fuckin' awesome.

  • Yo Yo Ma

That's for every guy that has gotten home after working a double-shift and all they want to do is sit their ass on the couch for five minutes but their wife tells them to help with the dishes because, after all, folding laundry while watching TV is backbreaking.

    • Iheartthechive

You sir, deserve a +9000 for this. There have been so many times I have come home to, "Help me finish cooking dinner." or "I need help cleaning the kitchen, you ate too you know." And she is always too busy to get something done because of the kids (who are 3 and 4). Funny how they never stop her from being on Facebook all damn day and watching Hulu like a junkie.

    • Not Oprah

While I agree with the sentiment, mothers don't get days or nights off. Granted, it's a pretty sweet job to be on call with, but still, mothers get no break whatsoever. Mothering isn't always physically demanding, but try living at your job. Having said that, I have never begrudged a man his downtime. It would be annoyingly insensitive to ask a man who just got back, as you say, from a double shift to hop to. I would hope all dads are aware of their wives' neverending tasks and glad to pitch in to give her a break once in a while. (Just as I would hope all moms aren't saving up a construction project for his one day off a week!)

    • Nicole

What kind of awesome high paying job do you and Iheartthechive have that your wife's dont have to work??? I don't know anyone who can afford to have one person stay home.

      • Not Oprah

Well, we live in a rural area, so prices are not as expensive. And then we choose to do without a lot so we can spend time with our children.

  • twd22285

Bill Burr is the MAN! "these women are bending over putting DVDs into DVD players.." LOL

    • thedude325

"No time card, no taxes, your off the fuckin' grid!" Hilarious.

    • burt reynolds

I think you mean "too" funny? Spell it write or donut spell it at awl.

  • Angela Nelson

I have to agree while parts are difficult it does not top the charts as most difficult

  • @lackofabetter

Burr is at the top of his game right now, If you dont listen to his monday morning podcast, you should. Its free and hilarious

  • Derhurp

Having children doesn't make you special, nor does it make you some kind of martyr….

  • dirtysteve99

Oprah- the gullible Queen of Overstatement.

    • GernBlansten

It does appear to pay well…..

  • SlimShady

The point is that it's difficult because you give up opportunities for the sake of causing better outcomes for your kids. Not necessarily because it's physically the most difficult job.

    • Job

But this can be said about anything you do. Opportunity cost are present with any choice you make.

      • Agent Johnson

Yeah! I could have been masturbating instead of watching this!

        • downfall616

therefore, masturbating is the most difficult job in the world?

          • kampizi

If it was easy – everyone would do it.

            • Rufus

              Everyone does.

    • Stu

If that were the case then why stress "mother" as the most difficult job as opposed to parent. Oprahs agenda is to manipulate women into thinking there is some kind of imaginary oppression being forced on them. In turn when she notes a female role as being the most important or difficult, she looks vigilant against the overwhelming bouts of (imaginary) sexism that keep crashing down on her and all women alike. In short, getting a job you fucking scum bags.

    • Holly

Better outcome?? Weird, both my parents worked and somehow all 3 of us kids are all doing pretty darn well for ourselves. Probably because since my mom worked we were able to go to a pretty good school. So sounds to me like my mom sacrificed in order for us to have a "better outcome".

  • Dave

If you found this funny, definitely check out Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast (like Jon said in the comments above). He's a seriously funny dude.

  • J-Walk

Bill Burr is one of the best comics in the country and he never disappoints. This is a little old though.

  • ATI

FINALLY! Someone said it. If thirteen year old meth addicts can be 'mams' , trust me, it's not that hard.

  • Mike

Raising NORMAL, HEALTHY kids is pretty damn easy. Raising a child with a disability or deformity could get pretty tough I'd bet.

    • GernBlansten

This is true, but oddly enough the women who have children with disabilities are never the ones complaining…..

  • Jen

Not the most difficult but I dont see guys signing up to be stay at home dads on the reg….

    • Iheartthechive

Well when that form comes out I'll be the first to sign up. Keep us posted Jen, you seem to be in the know.

    • Elnene333

Maybe they do but nobody knows about it because they're busy not complaining about it. . .

      • Underbaker

Yeah if I was a stay at home dad you know I would be talking about how it is the most difficult job on the planet. But you will never know if it is true or I am just trying to protect my job.

    • clyde

I would LOVE to stay at home and raise the kids but instead I'm stuck having the career and missing every first from all three kids.

    • GernBlansten

That's because your estrogen slinging ass can't make as much money, so we get stuck shlepping it to work every day. I'd trade with my wife in a heartbeat (and she'd let me) if she could make enough to support us.

    • phuphu

Both of my parents had jobs and if I had to say who was more of the stay at home parent it would have to be my dad. He worked nights while my mom was at work during the day so he had to drive us to school, cook dinner, help with hw, etc. though my mom made up for it on the weekend.

Bottom line, even my mom would say that being a stay at home parent is cake compared to the work force

  • Bob Ganoosh
