Bill burr and his thoughts on Oprah’s “Most difficult job on the planet” (Video)

For the record, my mom was a stay at home parent and so I have nothing but love and respect for what they do. That being said, the asshole in me thinks that this rant is hilarious — and mostly true.

That's so funny. i've been thinking about this bit for the last few days. I think it's because of those olympic commercials with the mom forcing her daughter to go to gymnastics.

I'm a stay at home dad and it's a deceiving type of job. Yea, I get to play and bike and draw. But fixing healthy meals vs crap meals EVERY day takes some fucking sanity away bit by bit. Along with the public temper tantrums, constant fighting and obstinant behaviour as they develop personalities. And when your eye is off the ball for half a sec and junior is on the road as some cell phone talking driver screams through a stop sign you can feel your age double.
I worked as an ER RN for 18 years in Canada and the US and even cracking a chest open so we could massage a heart was less stressful. But also less fun or rewarding. I could always leave the job at work. The kids, my wife they're always with you 24/7.
Still funny anytime someone slags Oprah though. That never gets old.

If you think that having children is the most difficult job in the world then you should never have become a parent in the first place. You should feel privileged to be with your children. The most difficult job would be working a double every day knowing that you are missing so much of your child's life.

I would give my right nut, if i could watch my kid all day. Stay away from work. Take her to the pool, the park, watch movies. Stay at home mom's don't know how good they got it.
