Another shinning example of why Chivers are some of the most incredible people on earth! Glad to see that pup is doing well πŸ™‚

    • Ryan

      Shining*

      • Kelly

Man, good catch Ryan! The interwebs grammar/spelling police would have exacted their swift and harsh brand of justice. Anyway, that was a really touching post! You said it best, Chivers are the most incredible type of human!

        • poop chute

So much better than doctors and firefighters. And don't get me started on the men and women of the armed forces.

          • I don't know

Did you ever stop to think that being a chiver doesn't stop you from being anything you mentioned? Being a chiver isn't about what job you do it's about the type of person you are. I've only been chiving for a few months and I've already witnessed a few things that have restored some of my faith in humanity like Taylor Morris and the money thechive helped raise for the shooting viticms in Colorado. Being a chiver transcends any other labels. It's more than a website it's a state of mind and a way of living life. Kcco.

            • CanadianChivette

If "Chiver" was in the dictionary.. That's exactly what it would need to say! Couldn't agree more πŸ™‚

              • Kristen

If "CanadianChivette" was in the dictionary, it would say "Disease infested rotten crotch whore."

                • Barry McKokkinner

Wow Kristen, what happened to you?

            • vvv

Oh bullshit… there are just as many asshole chivers as there are asshole …. I don't know policemen….
Chivers is a nice site and all, but to say 'Chivers are incredible people' is just generalising a community.
Assholes and nice people are presents within each and everyone, and I very much doubt that chivers have a higher/lower ratio of either.

              • Deboh

                R U FUCKING RETARDED ?!?!?!?!?

Did you see how much good us Chivers did for the Bat Man Shooting Victims?!?!?!

What the fuck is wrong with you; like even if you do think the way your representing your self (p.s. I dont think you do; I'd imagine you just have sand in your vagina)
Why oh fucking Why would you make that comment

                • vvv

Well, the way you are responding like an angry kid who learned how to swear – kind of proves my point, but I can go into detail if you'd like.
Yes, some chivers are great people, I never said the opposite (also a lot of other communities manage to raise money and so on)

I don't think anything is wrong with me, but I guess that's not for me or you to judge.
I still stand by my point – every community has good and bad people, to generalise like that is wrong.
The reason I made that comment is because to glorify everyone in the community for the great and kind actions of a few is unfair to those who do those great things.
They did those things because they are great people, not because they are Chivers…
If you respond – do so like an adult and not like a chav..

                  • Ryan

Look if someone is going to be a complete jerk off then they are going to be a jerk off but that one person(s) does not represent the majority of the group who have done a lot of great things for people or animals in need. From what I have noticed from my time on the site is that most of the people on here are generally good human beings.

A lot of people on here have done great things as individuals but also identify themselves as members of this community. There good deeds reflect greatly upon them and the chive community. So I have no issues giving out praise to a tremendous group of individuals!

                    • Ryan

*their, I really need to use spell check more

                    • vvv

You really just won the arguement for me…
It's like you said 'if someone is going to be a jerk off… etc etc' – well the same goes for 'someone is going to be a nice guy'. The actions of a few do not represent the majority of the group…. The only reason you notice only the 'great' people (which I agree there are some) – is because noone is going to post the bad things that chivers do/have done.
A lot of people here do great things, and a lot of them to assholish things.
You can't just say 'bad things people do don't determine the society' but 'good things they do do determine the society' – that's a very stupid way of thinking and you are being very selective in what you chose to be the representative factor.
Point being – the above post is awesome, those people are awesome – but don't let the glory go to the majority of chigers who might not be and prolly aren't all that great….

            • Dick

              You are a major boner

              • I don't know

Are you saying I have a big dick? Thanks son.

    • http://thechive.com/ Paula_

Yeah, they did great! Meow the dog is finally fat enough to eat!

    • mojo77

    KCCO Jagger and Morgan!

    • Deboh

These Two are amazing; I applaud them for their decision to rescue a dog, recognize that rescue dogs are just as good as an animal from a breeder and definitely better than a pet store animal, and for CHAMPIONING their cause. This is exactly what I say when people ask me why I adopted my terrier mutley or where I got him,

He Is a rescue, there are just too many animals out there that need a home and are available for adoption; Right Now! at this MOMENT, for me to spend $ on a dog.

Pet Stores are Awful by the way; they inbreed these poor animals for their physical traits and pay no mind to the fact that the perfect looking dogs are fucking dumb as rocks. This is why we shouldn't support pet shops; they treat animals terribly.

    #10 says it all…. KCCO dog! πŸ˜€

    • AssHaterson

No doubt. I giggled like a little girl when I scrolled to this pic. My wife and I are rescuing another abused dog that looks a lot like Jagger. He's in a cage 23 hours a day and has a lot of health problems. We'll get him from the foster family on Saturday.

      • Morgan

        Good Luck and Awesome Decision!!

  • saucypants

Hooray for this dog and these people. Fuck yeah. You guys get all the gold stars.

    All you need is LOVE!!

    • Cough

      Bullshit.

  • A BiPolar Guy

Dog's are the only love money *can* buy.

    • https://www.facebook.com/MortenPrangNorup Morten Prang Norup

Money can buy the dog, but the wag of the tail has to be earned. =)

      • A BiPolar Guy

Technically true, but you pretty much have to resort to cruelty for them not to love you.

    • Deboh

Hey man go to an animal shelter and you can get that love for free bro hahn

I've had my terrier mutt Cocktail for 6 years now, and after having a full pedigree field hunting lab I can tell you the love from a rescue is just the same. If not better

      • nuccabay

you may get the dog for free, but taking proper care of any dog costs a lot of money

        • ObamaCare

Don't worry about taking care of the dog it's on page 1016 of the bill we had to pass so you'd know what was in it.

  • ShaHiROHara

I didn't need another reason to love the Chive but I just got one…thank you so much for saving Jagger and for being an advocate for abused dogs everywhere and for restoring my faith in humanity! I love y'all!

  • Andy

Couldn't agree more. Shelter dogs are the way to go! We adopted one 2 years ago and haven't regretted it one day since. Best memory so far when she found me 10 beers first time I took her camping. We knew then she would fit right in with the family

    • V4Vendetta14

LOL!!! Your dog knows how to start the party… as long as said beer owners weren't angry inbred mountain men.

  • Jah Reefer

From shelter pet to sheltered pet in 11 easy steps.

  • etcrr

What a sweet cute dog. Congrats on getting a great dog and a lot of work on your part Kudos

  • The Emperor

I hope the guy who abandoned Jagger and left him to starve to death gets as much negetive karma as Morgan deserves good karma. Whoever he/she is deserves some serious pain.

  • Admam

    awesome work, chive on!! godspeed

  • Shane

Congrats on the adoption! I'm the owner of two rescue cats and they are two of the most amazing animals I've ever known. There isn't much that's more rewarding than giving an animal another lease on life, giving it love and receiving its love in return.

There really isn't any reason not to adopt these days- like Morgan said, shelter animals have just as much love to give as any others, and by adopting, you're not only rescuing the animal you're taking, you're also freeing up space in the shelter, which allows more animals to be housed and have a chance at finding their new home as well. It's not just one life you're saving, it's 2 or 3 or 10 or a hundred.

Some faith in humanity restored πŸ˜€

    • hellyeah

This is what gets me ,its much more appealing than somebody asking for help/charity. Totally cried after seeing his emaciated pic. You will earn browny karma points for this Morgan.

    ASTOUNDING!!!!!

  • Steph

I adopted my girl from a shelter 5 years ago. She's seriously the best dog I've ever had. She wasn't in bad condition when I got her like Jagger was, but she had worms and a few other problems. Since she's healed, she has had no other problems. I can't imagine ever buying a dog after having this wonderful shelter dog.

  • alex

I've adopt'd old and ill shelter cats for years, just so I knew the last few years of their lives would be happy, calm and playful.

Once, in the middle of the coldest Janruary on record here there was a cat, nearly starved to death tied to a fence and covered in iceicle, so I stole him and got him healthy again and live happily until he died of old age.

There needs to be stronger punishments for people to harm animals in my opinion.

    • Woody

My brain hurts after reading that gobbledygook.

      • itstrue

Fuck off to your semi porn posts then.

    • V4Vendetta14

You rule! Love my shelter kitty. She makes me laugh every day.
