any one else notice the sunken trailer someone in #5 How do I add a picture I highlighted?

    • Caleb Hardy

The sunken trailer is called a boat trailer. Its what you use to transport a boat out of water. It goes under water when you launch the boat. Check out picture #1 and see what the boat looks like on the trailer, on the thing called a boat ramp, or launch. I know… Its weird.

    • John

Dude, that is his own trailer, compare it to #1. That's how you launch a boat.

    • Sam Christy

Ever launched a boat? You back the trailer into the water genius…

  • Jimbob

    I suppose it fires blanks

  • 2Dogs

Should fit it with working guns

Seriously though , best toy boat ever…

  • Catbra

    You sunk my battleship

  • MarauderV8

    The British should sink it.

  • GernBlansten

I guess they don't have a lot to keep them occupied in Maine….

  • Toastar

Am I the only one who is going to comment that the Graf Spee was NOT a battleship, but a heavy cruiser? I mean, you might say Tomato/Tomato (though it was called sometimes a 'Pocket Battleship)….but still….not a battleship.

    • dre

thumbs up if you dont care about what he just said

  • Bob

Also the British didn't sink it. The Germans scuttled it.

    • dre

      or him

  • Lugh

Glad to see I'm not the first to note that:

    1) It's the Graf Spee, not Graf Spree.
    2) It was a "pocket battleship" or enhanced heavy cruiser, not a true battleship
    3) And while it was technically scuttled by the Germans, it's only because she was so heavily damaged that she couldn't sail.

    • Lugh

Correction: she was too heavily damaged to make it to a friendly port for repairs.

    • tom

No it was not too heavily damaged Capt. Langsdorf did not want it to fall into British hands and the Uruguay government was threatening to intern the ship he committed suicide afterwards

      • Lugh

Uruguay was officially neutral during WW2. Under the neutrality agreement, no Allied or Axis ship could stay in a neutral port for more than three days, thus Graf Spee either had to make a run for an Axis port or be interned for the entire war, at which point Allied intelligence officers would have been allowed to see it.

The Graf Spee had received damage from Ajax and Achilles in her bow, which would have had a debilitating impact on her seaworthiness in a beeline for Germany, not to mention the fact that the British convinced the Germans that two of their aircraft carriers were in the area ready to destroy her should she leave. Too damaged to make full speed, especially with the destruction of her diesel fuel purifiers, and not fully seaworthy (hence, too heavily damaged), Langsdorff decided to scuttle the ship rather than see his crew killed or see his ship's code machines and sensitive documents fall into enemy hands.

Had the Graf Spee not been damaged, she likely would have made the beeline for Germany, but the damage sustained in the battle rendered escape an impossibility.

        • dre

cool story bro, please tell me more

          • Simon

            Shame on you. Behave yourself.

  • A.Hood

Let's not forget who built and used the Graf Spee, and why. Hitler wasn't going to go on a Sunday outing on the thing.

  • Trez

Toy Boat, Toy Boat, Toy Boat, Toy Boat, Toy Boat, Toy Boat.

  • Visitohr

    I've seen a few model replica's, but… A 2seater, that pretty awesome.

  • dre

  • fuck obama

Im sure he didn't built that, someone helped him

    • Chiv3On

Without the government, he would never have been able to launch that boat. He owes his success to the city park employees who built that boat ramp. They're the ones who made it possible.

      • Barry Setoro

        -0-bumbler is that you?

He needs to learn how to masturbate

  • Iggy Catalpa

I don't understand why they give him grief for building a German ship, it's still an awesome accomplishment, and it doesn't mean he's a Nazi or anything….

  • Kenny

    It's German? Sink the F@#*$er!!!

  • Simon

Is it one of the most famous battleships in history then? My history must suck more than I think.

P.S. the ship needs to be at least…. three times bigger than this.
