what I don't get is, why go to all this trouble to make the thing, but you buy a shit load of individually wrapped rice crispy treats? You know you can make those too right?

Looks good and would make a pretty badass conversation piece, presuming you can find people whose heads aren't so far up their asses that they think knowledge about a classic video game is something to be ashamed of.

Fondant tastes like crap. They can make all the fancy looking cakes they want but if they taste like crap it's useless.

People need to separate food from decorations.
I don't give a shit if my cake looks exactly like something…its going in mah belly, I want it to taste good

This is not a Mega Man cake, it's a Mega Man Rice Crispy Treat.
It is just a small, round, black cake.
Call it edible art, but not a cake.
These shows where they make those big production "cakes" end up with things that are about 20% cake.
More cake and less Rice Crispy Treats and that horrible icing that taste like Crisco mixed with sugar.
