    This is awesome! Speechless 🙂

    • Chris

His named sounded familiar so I did a quick google search. Meyers Leonard declared early for the NBA and was drafted 11th overall by Portland just a couple months after this happened. BTW, he scored 18 pts and had 9 rebounds in this game but Illinois lost.

  • This guy

CHIVE ON to all you military people. you make CHUCK NORRIS seem inadequate.

    • Brian

      Chuck Norris is inadequate.

      • black27696

Chuck norris was decent in martial arts, terrible as an actor, and a liar with a slide connected to cables called a "total" gym.

  • PiratesFan

It's impossible to watch military reunions and not get choked up.

  • Anjin-San

Couldn't see anything behind those ears..

    • Donnation

      You really are a prick.

    • joe

      I think you meant tears

    • MylesofStyles

Although "Anjin-San" usually means "Honorable Pilot", in this case it translates to "Fucking Douche Bag Green with Envy."

  • wouldntyouliketoknow

Did anyone else get something in their eye?

    • guest444

Got a DAMN bat stuck in my eye… Yup a bat.

    • Sad Panda

      Onions… Onions everywhere

    • ush

  • Bryan

I hate to admit it, but damn this marine is handsome.

  • Ryan

Got to admit that put a tear in my eye, really cool to see that though

  • Giant Gio

Damn you chive your not suppose to make me cry so early in the morning, and you owe me a beer, you killed my buzz

    Chive on

  • lat297

That video made me call my brother. :')

    • A tearful brother

And you just made me cry. I wanted to call my little bro so bad after I read your comment. And then after about a 1/2 a second I remembered he's been dead for 10 years. This choked me up but not as much as a simple sentiment. Thank you.

      • lat297

I feel for you. I lost one of my sisters in July; I don't know what I'd do without my brother too…KCCO I guess.

  • http://cinemaplastique.tumblr.com MigraineBoy

Chive, Why do you guys insist on making me bawl like a girl, on a Monday morning, in my office, in front of my coworkers?

    • add

They got my teary with the kid and killed me with this video. Now I look like a big baby at work chive. Thanks 🙂

  • JESSE

I'm a Penn State alum, but this totally makes me want to cheer for the Illini a little bit.

  • Jack Sparrow

Nothing like seeing your brother after so long apart ❤

  • Tom

Served as a DOD firefighter in Iraq. They do not get enough praise for the work they do. I have been home from Iraq since 2009. If I see a Marine out to dinner with his family I quietly pay their bill and leave. Thank you Chive for honoring a Marine and a hero. Do you think the Chive can help with the wounded warrior project and raise enough money to build a house for a disabled hero? I raise this challenge as I have seen what the Chive has done in the past. They are as their motto says Forever faithful. Much respect!
    Loyal Chiver, Tom

    • HERO?

Why a person who kill other people as a job, in order to garantee low gas price for the americans, is called a hero?

      • Anjin-San

        and now…
        unleash hell…

      • Chandler

Missing a "would", there should be an "s" after "kill". Guarantee* prices* ; delete is. Oh and it's Mericans.

      • Mr Smith

You sir, are a complete twat. God bless America – all the way from Wales.

      • Ryan

        go play in traffic.

      • smallchinaman

You just don't get it. I disagree with the wars as well, but it isn't the soldiers decision so why hack on them. I bet you would be damn glad they do what they do if we weren't the strongest nation on the planet and needed to defend ourselves against countries with equal or greater forces.

      • thedude325

They kill the people who intend to kill you and take away your freedom. They put their lives on the line so you and I can persue our dreams without having to worry about being gunned down in the streets over political, social, religous, racial, or economic differences.

        • Lisa

Amen. As a former Army wife, amen.

It isn't an easy life for the members or their families, but it is worth it, even when one is defending the life/freedom/liberties of a twit like the "HERO?" commenter.

As for the video, welcome home Marine, welcome home. If you're ever in Colorado, holler. First round is on me. 😉

      • andyINalberta

Really dude???? The politics of the situation, well, they are what they are and by the sound of it we are possibly even on the same page and while putting on a uniform doesnt instantly make u a great guy its enough for me to give the benefit of doubt until proven otherwise. Take the politics to the your elected officials and raise all the hell you can but take your hat off to men and women like this fellow …and Im one of those damn Canadian yall like to take pot shots at.

  • Neps1982

Why do I even watch these things, knowing I'm gonna cry..
Because there is nothing more special than a brothers love

  • cookit

@Chive, please send these guys a chive shirt , they are Chive family.

  • Dano

I was prepared to be cynical because it started out with the cheesy music and seemed like a promo…then the story started…and….*sniff*

    Love this sh!t…

    Best,

    D

  • TheDJ

I think this kind of cheesy story, with "reality show" kind of interviews, makes everything fake.

    • Jared

I image those interviews were done after, that reactoin seemed pretty sincere.

      • TheDJ

Maybe it is, but I don't think this moments should be filmed or photographed. It's a personal moment. The problem is that today everything must be shared and everyone wants to be a "internet star".

        • MrsBuniwunikins

I sort of agree with you, but I don't. My boyfriend is in the military, and I would love for a surprise homecoming. But you're right. It's MY moment, and I could careless if it was on the internet, in fact, I would prefer that it wouldn't be. But…I love these videos…because they give me hope. They make me believe that he WILL come home sometime soon…Safe…and in my arms again. And they make me happy to see that the ones who serve have loved ones to come back to and they DO make it home.

  • KhmerStory

I cried like a baby… And then I looked at boobies and it was all good.

  • KittyAust

    Just beautiful!

  • Agnes

That was amazing. It's like you find videos to make me cry Chive. You guys better admit you sit in the office bawling too!
