I was just thinking the same thing. I understand the less than adoptable nature of a pit bull in a way but not just because a pet is black.

Most people don't want a black pet for some reason…I've heard it from lots of shelters. We took a black dog from the ASPCA and they told us the same. It's weird. I'm always going to adopt black pets from now on.
