I'm not denying it sells. Top40 is primarily music made from Macbooks and drum machines.

I feel it is an insult to musicians to compare anything made off of those things to music made from orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, bass, real drums, untouched (or lightly touched) vocals.

I think it's a "device" that still requires a certain ear, rhythm, and amount of skill to yeild anything good from, just like any instrument. It's just newer. It's based off of electronic sound, and I'm sure people felt the same way about classical guitar vs. electric guitar for rock music. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it's insulting to musicians in my mind to make light of any instrument or "device". Hell, if you think about it, the piano is just a bunch of buttons that make different sounds that you combine to create a song, and even had pedals (bigger foot buttons) to overlay or prolong the sounds. Logic.

Kid's got skills, no doubt. To all the assholes hating on her…being a DJ and a Producer are two completely different things. Anyone, including myself, can take other artists songs, loops, etc and mash them together, live or in a studio. Producers come up with the instruments, timing, loops, everything and make it into a track. This girl is producing, Skrillex live mixes (sometimes). This girl>Skrillex

This girl is not better than Skrillex. Skrillex has a firm foundation of music theory, music production, audio engineering, mixing and mastering. This girl would not be able to produce a studio quality sounding track in Ableton using Massive/FM8, sorry. Props to her, no doubt, I'm not hating on her, but to say she's better than Skrillex? Not quite.

I didn't say she's better, I said she's greater–as in I already respect her more than him. I know Skrillex has raw tallent and skill but I just can't get around his repetitive sound…seriously…every track sounds exactly the same to me because he uses the EXACT same kicks and snares and wobble patterns in EVERY SONG.

I'm sorry but for a 10 year old who has only been playing that tech for FIVE days and can put that many layers with no noticeable sync issues together should get a HUGE gold star….. i consider myself pretty tech savoy and I wouldn't be at her level in 5 days.

Wow, she's basically just using a loop pedal. This is very simple to do and can be done with GarageBand in 15min.
