Or whatever else she wants to be probably. This girl’s clearly got skills.
It's true, being a DJ is more than pressing play! Please believe me!
Yeah, there's the stop button too! Geniuses.
I agree! which is why im happy that skrillex bassnectar and d3admau5e dont ad the DJ in front of there name. look up dj z-trip, dj yoda, dj shadow.
you can go even farther and go with Q-bert, Babu, or mix master mike who call themselves turntablists.
So I guess it should be "SKRILLEX THE BUTTON PUSHER".
We all have to start somewhere. She said she had used it for 5 days. Think about what she'll be making after 5 years.
apparently this from 2010. she's 12 now. I wonder how far along she is now?
Exactly… look at Madeon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTx3G6h2xyA
fake and gay
Comments are meant to be about the video, not about yourself
Sir…You wins the internet today
i hate to be the asshole, but she wasn't hitting the buttons. Several times she hit the corner of four buttons….whatever..i'm not going to steal her moment
REAL AND STRAIGHT.
What is fake? You? Obviously, you are the one that is fake here…
What is gay? Or more to the point, WTF being gay has anything to do with this video?
Why don't you find something really sharp and deadly to play with until an unfortunate accident happen to you? You know, so you can perish and avoid contaminating the gene pool with retarded Neanderthal gene…
now you sir are just as worse as him !! congrats
looks like lmfao and skrillex are going to have to look for a new line of work
who said skrillex was a real DJ
To be fair they were probably looking for something new anyway…
check out this kid as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5I98OcegL0
at their age i was i was busy playing mario on some nintendo console
whether or not you consider her a "DJ", its just nice to see a kid that likes music and takes the initiative to make her own.
At 10, this kids got more musical talent & brains then both celebrity dj/singers Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton combined.
I'd ask whether the * should appear after the correction, but when you think about it, chewing caramels is just as arbitrary as drinking coffee
I got two things from this video. 1)Rap/ DJing requires the skill of a ten year old white girl. 2) See number 1
Fuk n A
I LMAO on that one
So the Asian kid rips the fuck out of a piano and the American kid presses big grey buttons. A star in the making!
Seriously. I dont deny that she loves making the music, but there is little skill in what she did. Maybe she will improve and learn to compose in time, she has a good start on that already.
isnt playing the piano just pressing big white and black buttons?? im sure the asian kid had more than 5 days to practice as well…
So because her instrument took batteries it doesn't count. I would agree that the kids playing the piano take a lot of work but they didn't write the songs. I did see the Piano in the back ground im betting she can play it as well. Lighten up KCCO
Wow, dont know who would let their kid play with a $5000 piece of production equipment but their much braver than i am
Or $1,200… maybe their kids shouldn't touch the home computer or the TV in the living room either?
Next Gen industrial line workers are already being prepped for work!
Well, there was absolutely no "song" or "music" in this video, but I guess she is good at adding sounds together using a device?
isn't that what all music is? Adding this instrument to that percussion to those vocals? even if you don't consider it music despite all that, groups like Daft Punk and Justice make millions off of it, so I guess they win in the end? haha
I'm not denying it sells. Top40 is primarily music made from Macbooks and drum machines.
I feel it is an insult to musicians to compare anything made off of those things to music made from orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, bass, real drums, untouched (or lightly touched) vocals.
I think it's a "device" that still requires a certain ear, rhythm, and amount of skill to yeild anything good from, just like any instrument. It's just newer. It's based off of electronic sound, and I'm sure people felt the same way about classical guitar vs. electric guitar for rock music. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it's insulting to musicians in my mind to make light of any instrument or "device". Hell, if you think about it, the piano is just a bunch of buttons that make different sounds that you combine to create a song, and even had pedals (bigger foot buttons) to overlay or prolong the sounds. Logic.
How long till some steals her loop
Still better than twilight
dude everything is better than twilight
That is amazing… God bless her
I agree. The kid has rhythm and she's workin it. For 5 days of practice, that ain't bad at all. Pray she just continues and gives our kids somethin to rave at when they go to parties.
Kid's got skills, no doubt. To all the assholes hating on her…being a DJ and a Producer are two completely different things. Anyone, including myself, can take other artists songs, loops, etc and mash them together, live or in a studio. Producers come up with the instruments, timing, loops, everything and make it into a track. This girl is producing, Skrillex live mixes (sometimes). This girl>Skrillex
This girl is not better than Skrillex. Skrillex has a firm foundation of music theory, music production, audio engineering, mixing and mastering. This girl would not be able to produce a studio quality sounding track in Ableton using Massive/FM8, sorry. Props to her, no doubt, I'm not hating on her, but to say she's better than Skrillex? Not quite.
I didn't say she's better, I said she's greater–as in I already respect her more than him. I know Skrillex has raw tallent and skill but I just can't get around his repetitive sound…seriously…every track sounds exactly the same to me because he uses the EXACT same kicks and snares and wobble patterns in EVERY SONG.
Hmm…. With all due respect, the title of this post led me to expect more. I thought she was gonna bust out some crazy beat and have hands flying all over that machine. She's good but my mind wasn't blown. It rests safely and warmly in my skull. But she's still better than me.
I'm sorry but for a 10 year old who has only been playing that tech for FIVE days and can put that many layers with no noticeable sync issues together should get a HUGE gold star….. i consider myself pretty tech savoy and I wouldn't be at her level in 5 days.
I wouldn't say she'll be an awesome DJ. I can see her being an awesome producer. That instrumental she put together was pretty nice and she's got the basics downpact.
She is a good computer button presser. Its not like the asian kid shredding on the piano or the asian kid shredding on the guitar or the asian kid shredding on the drums…….. needs an asian kid.
Look out Daft Punk. Someone get this kid into the schools and save the rest of the upcoming generations! Spread the awesome! Please!!!!
The beat reminds me of something Gorillaz would do. Every melody had something unexpected in it. Good stuff.
her daddy must be pretty ill too !!! she may have been playing for 5 days BUT im sure shes been watching her whole life
Welp, when you have it on auto quantize, and the pads are already set up, then it's not rocket science…yes…most 5 year olds could do it.
just as Carrie explained I am stunned that some one can make $6611 in 4 weeks on the computer. did you read this website (Click on menu Home more information) http://goo.gl/GrwhK
wow thats amazing…
everybody else can make $6611 in 4 weeks by getting a fucking JOB.
Ya so, i learned fruityloops and like 12
year old boys
Wow, she's basically just using a loop pedal. This is very simple to do and can be done with GarageBand in 15min.
