That is about the dumbest statement I have ever heard. It would only be said or liked by someone who has socialist or communist beliefs. You can not make everyone equally successful, you can only make everyone equally miserable.

Oh, you can make nearly everyone (bar convicted criminals, I mean) comfortable, and that should be the goal.
But what if this would be rephrased as "A developed country is not where the poor have cars. It's where the public transportation is so good that not even the rich need them." ?

Read a little about comunism and ilustrate what that shit is really about, someone say the words common and public and everybody scream communism, It's lame. Comunism is indeed a full of crap and should be banned, but point everything as comunism is so 50's, man.
