Do I get bonus points for knowing what kerning was without having to google it?

      • theDtrain

Not sure what points I get for knowing "kerning", not knowing "leading", but then being enough of a geek to spend the next half an hour learning typography terms on Wikipedia.

obviously words said by someone who is not good at video games. Lots more challenge in playing video games than wine and dine a girl.

      • Lev

Also ruling out the possibility that girls play video games.

      • Mally

more challenge maybe. but the rewards aren't comparable

      • Drew

The excuses of an anti-social virgin are endless.

        • joe shabadoo

and the condescension of a douchebag is also endless

          • quailman8907

You really think he knew what that word meant??

      • Slim Jim

and he'll tell you what the inside of a vagina feels like

    • MylesofStyles

Beautiful Girls of the World: Let a man wine and dine the fuck out of you, fuck the fuck out of him, then play video games with him. Rinse and repeat.

      • Lucky535

Done and done. The challenge with that one is finding the man to wine and dine you first.

        • JoseGuana

    #25 i love this religion

    • Spencetron

Whether you believe in God, Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, Zoroaster, nothing, none of the above, or all of the above, if we all keep a good moral compass we can coexist.

      • Grawlix

A good moral compass includes not being a dick about a religion or a lack of it.

        • Frauline

How does having a lack of religion = not having a good moral compass? Ever read Scarlet Letter? Have you not been a witness to the jihad that is currently going on? I'd rather see more people lack religion first and then decide whether that was good for morality before I judged.

          • http://www.facebook.com/phoenixv8 phoenixv8

The examples of religion you talk of are highlighted extremes, that's like saying that all Christians are blood thirsty savages because of the Crusades when we know that isn't the case.

Morality and religion are seen as different entities entirely but when you boil it down to is bare essence and remove all of the sociopolitical and extremist bullshit then religion is essentially a re-enforcement of morals

And this is coming from someone who is not religious, merely someone opened minded enough to understand alternative opinions and beliefs

            • glenco

treating people how you want to be treated has more to do with common sense than religion (especially when religion is actually just a front for control). if i hit you, you hit me back, if i don't want you to hit me, i don't hit you first. this is kinda learnt at a very young age.

if religious people accept their chosen religion is based on previous religions which are based on astrology this world would be a better (and smarter) place.

they were not helmets, they were leather hats with goggles and ear muffs

      • TeeGee

One of the biggest reasons is probably the radio earphones incorporated into the soft leather helmets. Gotta be able to communicate even on a suicide mission. http://zidbits.com/2011/03/why-did-kamikaze-pilot

not a mystery. ya still had to protect that crazy indoctrinated brain right up until your final approach…

      • TheDoctor

They had to stay alive as long as possible until they could successfully crash into their target, as the Allies tried to shoot them down. And yes, they were NOT helmets. FAIL.

  • Chiver_Sammy

#27 has inspired me to be a better man…thanks Chive.

    • Charter896

Yeah, go ahead and do that and see how far you'll get. You'll get fucked – and NOT in a good way.

Had to have been written by a girl.

    • hugh.m@rshall.us

… or just a guy who knows WTF he's talking about.

      • Smoke

I bet the guy who wrote it is far from Don Draper. (Mad Men)

    • AllTaco

      Put down the laptop…

    • Cheddar

Or by a guy who has been with one.

    • KyleGamgee

If it was written by a girl, then this is an attempt by her to get fucked.

      I'm okay with that.

    • hollywood800

      or maybe Barney Stenson?

  • Tothe

"If it doesn't sound like something Mark Twain would say, it's probably not something Mark Twain said." – Mark Twain?

  • https://www.facebook.com/colin.twigg Colin Twigg

#19 I wouldn't class ourselves as intelligent, compared to an ape we are intelligent, but there is only 1% difference in our DNA to an ape.
If aliens have 101% of our DNA, we would be the apes in comparison to them.
How often do you try to give an ape directions back to your home town?…

    • dave

I don't think you understand how DNA works…

      • burt fizzlebeef

True, but his message in the right place. I assume he means a 1% "further" evolution from where humans currently are. I mean, really, humans haven't been around very long in the grand scheme of things so there's a pretty good chance that an alien civilization would already be tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or millions of years further evolved. There's also the chance that we're millions of years ahead of other alien civilizations. I like the idea of space-velociraptors anyway.

        • Yeah

          +1 million for space-velociraptors.

        • https://www.facebook.com/colin.twigg Colin Twigg

My reply was based on a talk astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson gave, I put a link to the video here somewhere. He does say our DNA is 99% identical to a chimp.
So I do trust what he says, but your explanation of 1% more evolution is a good explanation too 🙂

          • burt fizzlebeef

Yeah, I think people who are giving you thumbs down are either A) stupid or B) confused by the 101% of our DNA line. It just made it sound like the "more" DNA, the better instead of a 1% difference in the same amount of DNA. I would like to think that it was a misunderstanding from people, but I'm leaning more towards option A . 😦

            Oh well! KCCO

            • burt fizzlebeef

bah option B ) wasn't supposed to be a smiley face!

            • https://www.facebook.com/colin.twigg Colin Twigg

Ah yes I see how there could of been some confusion! Should of worded it better but at least you got it! Kcco!

      • https://www.facebook.com/colin.twigg Colin Twigg

Really? Because I watched this video which inspired me to reply… http://www.viddler.com/v/edb8e7c7
Please let me know if astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson is wrong.

    • Costanza

Leave it to the average mouth-breather Chivers to down-thumb one of the only intelligent comments ever posted in the Chive Comments section. . . .

I'm with you Colin. Humans are far more ape than intelligent.
