Yellowstone is only an hour away from me, Its worth going! You also get to see bears and awesome waterfalls, you wont forget the smell either!

Worked in the Old Faithful Area for 2 summers (78-79) best time of my life amazing place, all U.S. citizens should see this before Europe (include The Grand Tetons in your visit, close by)

My family of four went in June and fell in love. My husband and I have decided to move to Gardiner in ten years to be a part of this place permanently. There is so much diversity in the landscape and wildlife that I couldn't imagine ever getting bored. Keep those Yellowstone pictures coming. We just can't get enough.

I used to live in Yellowstone, too! It is like nothing you can even describe… like being on another planet! Fantastic! Hope to live there again someday!

I used to live about 2 hours from there in Pocatello, ID, and made many, many trips both for school and for fun. Not only is the geology amazing, but the wildlife is, too (or at least it was before the wolves decimated the elk herd).
frank
too many asians at old faithful, other than that its amazing.

Love Yellowstone, still haven't been in the winter time though and would like to some day. Last year I went to Jiuzhaigou Valley in China(about half way between Chengdu and Tibet, google it) and while it is a pretty epic place in itself, Yellowstone still has my heart.

I was there last week. Such a beautiful place. Definitely recommend it.

Wonderful post! Lived in Montana my whole life, and Yellowstone has yet to let me down. Absolutely stunning, no matter how many times you get to see it.

Being from Montana I know that those beautifully colored bodies of 'water' are actually sulphur pits, which smell disgusting and you feel noxious within three seconds of walking around

Probably my favorite place to visit, I live the flyer they give you when you first get to the part "You could be gored"
