I sort of agree, i mean I love the site, but I'm not gonna be wearing a chive t-shirt, it all seems very gauche to me. Oh, and if you want to tell somebody at a football game to chive on, make sure you are a hot girl first, because when you are a dude, you get funny looks.

OK, so they're doing what they can to make money. Nobody is forcing you to buy anything, nobody charges you to be on the site, and let's be honest, nobody give a shit that you don't want to buy their stuff. They're making a living like the rest of us and some of us are proud to be part of a community like the Chive. Feel free to go visit any other "site that posts pictures" where the people aren't as tight knit and happy to show their affiliation with something. Or you can just enjoy the posts without the bitching and whining.
