Wait a moment…I'm more likely to die in an asteroid apocalypse than be murdered?
Exactly how many asteroid apocalypses have killed someone…in the entire freakin' history of humanity? Unless I missed an important history class somewhere along the line, my guess is that number would be exactly ZERO. Whereas murder, while not exactly an everyday occurrence at my house, is on the news quite a bit each evening.
Then again, 91.673% of all stats you see on the intartubez are made up. Even the ones quoted by French models.

Doesn't matter the odds…. It's still going to happen to someone…. Someone will win that shit!

#3 #13 I'm more likely to be killed by asteroids than by falling off a ladder? Well, actually, I think that might be fairly accurate. If there's a 1 in 12,500 chance of my being killed by an asteroid, that means that there's a 1 in 12,500 chance of an asteroid hitting the earth during my lifetime. If we assume I will live 75 years, then we can multiply that by 12,500 to get 937,500 years. In other words, if a killer asteroid hits the earth every 1 million years, that gives me a 1 in 12,500 chance of dying from an asteroid impact. I do think that's still a bit off, as a website about the risk of asteroid impact says that the size of an asteroid that would hit the earth that frequently (every 100,000 to 1 million years) would be of the 1-2km size, which would "only" cause local extinctions and global cooling. It wouldn't kill everyone, in other words. So my chances of dying from an asteroid impact are probably better than 1 in 12,500, but probably still aren't as low as you would think. Certainly in the 1 in 12,500 to 1 in 50,000 or 1 in 100,000 range. So yeah, if the odds of dying by falling off a ladder are 1 in 2.3 million, you really ARE much MUCH more likely to die from an asteroid impact.
#9 Bothers me. I own a pitbull seized from a fighting ring shes the sweetest thing to people and animals. Even the other dogs seized with her have been great my sister has one missing part of his face from the same fighting ring.

The only thing this has told me is that I am more likely to be killed by an asteroid that got away from Bruce Willis than by a guy in a ski mask with a kitchen knife

Ya lost me at the asteroid apocalypse….cause you know, those are soooo frequent.

Best comparison I heard was you are more likely to guess the full name of a random stranger female in the United States than to win the powerball lottery.

REALLY?! One out of every 12,500 people will die in an asteroid apocalypse?! REALLY?!! More people die because of that then are murdered. REALLY??!!
You idiots.

If you don't play the lottery, your chances of winning are probably a lot lower. (factoring the chance that someone buys the ticket for you for a birthday or christmas present and it's currently in the mail on the way to you.)
Buying just one ticket probably more than doubles your odds of winning! (how many previous winners had the ticket bought for them? Almost zero, i'd imagine… not great odds)
