Picking nits, I know, but Firefly wasn't a hit show. Had it been we would have had 7 seasons, an ongoing film franchise, a new age of enlightenment, peace in the Middle East, and goodwill toward all mankind would be shared throughout the blessed earth. Everything went to shit when that show was cancelled.

If the network hadn't screwed it up, it might have. but when you start a show by premiering with episode 2, no context, no character introduction, then show the remaining episodes out of order, preempted whenever the network execs sneezed, and in poor timeslots, no show would have a chance.
