Yes, yes, we get it. If someone sees something differently or likes different things, they make you sick and they deserved to have their life ruined. "So, stranger, you like pepperoni pizza, you say? Well guess what. Andy and self-righteous pieces of garbage like him like MUSHROOM pizza and so you make him sick and so you must pay!"

You are a thought Nazi, Andy, plain and simple. And ironically, you so, so, so, so, so believe you are taking the high road when you wipe your ass with the Constitution.

      humans – one species,
      this cartoon – several species.

All students should have a basic standard for testing, for more specialised ability, you have college.

      • Miller0700

We all know that this cartoon is showing several species because its to represent all the different types of people there are, all with different skills, intelligence, and traits in a system that forcibly tries to mold them all into one conformist standard.

"…for more specialized ability, you have college."

All at the expense of thousands of dollars in debt with no guarantee of employment in this day and age? Yeah…no.

      • @julesmarie310

Students most certainly should have a standardized test to measure achievement and growth, but that should not be the basis for which teachers get paid or for which students (of any age) should be judged or means by which their success is measured. I have students who are FAR above the standard deviation of the bell curve in their school grades, but who can not test well. This being the reason why standardized testing should not be the sole determiner by which we should measure student academic growth.

But besides all of that bullshit… dude, it's a cartoon. Get the stick out of your ass.

        • Eccentric Auditor

There is no problem with the education system, there is a problem with parenting. If parents don't stress the value or importance of education, then the children won't be prepared to make their own rational/moral decisions in the future. A scholarly child from the ghetto wouldn't be a gang banging hoodlum if his parents weren't gang banging hoodlums also raised by gang banging hoodlums.

I became a CPA this year at the age of 25 and had to take countless standardized exams in the process. The most important thing I learned in my 6-year stint at Red McComb's wasn't part of the curricular at all, but was time management. Be productive everyday. There is always a job for anyone that's not too lazy to win it.

Also, if anyone has wondered why foreigners come to the U.S. and become so successful is because they worked twice as hard in their native countries and got nothing for it, and then came to America and worked half as hard, but was rewarded tenfold for it. As simple as it sounds.. work hard to reach your goals and sure enough, you will reach them.

          Happy News Years Chivers.

    Alec is a massive douchebag.

    • Alex

      KCCO dude

      • Sanchez

are you the plural form of Alec?

  • SystemFail:Education

#11 The goal of education is to impart knowledge to the people participating in the system. If some people are disinterested or incapable of receiving education, then they should not be forced to go through the system. Their presence usually interferes with the people that genuinely desire to learn.

    • dirtysteve

If they are children, then they don't get the choice, nor should they.
Learning difficulties are one thing, indulging a brat is another.

      • Miller0700

And for what? Training them never to question authority or the decisions they make? Having them prepare for a life unable to think, to criticize or to explore things around them and where in doing so, they get sneers, detentions, and suspensions for it?

No? Because that's exactly what our educational system is doing.

      • bigdeal

        hear fucking hear!

      • Thror

Indeed, Steve. The world needs ditch diggers, but if you let every kid who struggles in school quit, we would have far too many ditches.

Plenty of kids question authority. Not enough can understand a subway map, balance their checkbooks, or grasp the scientific method. A surprisingly large chunk can only read at a basic level and don't understand how compound interest works. These are fundamental things most people need to function in a modern society. And society generally hesitates give free passes.

        Stay in school, kids.

        • Sad but true.

I agree 100% that the education system is broken. I am a history teacher in a rural Georgia county and have 10th graders who can't read above a 3rd grade level. It's sad that other "Tenured Teachers" pass these students without a care. The second problem at my school is the parents. The kids have no structure or discipline at home. I have set appointments with parents to discuss how their kids are performing and the parents won't even show up. After teaching for 5 years I now question my career choice. I really enjoy sharing history with the kids but it seems I'm fighting a battle that can't be won.

          • Ed, You Cajun!

"Tenured Teachers", indeed. Unions were great a hundred years ago, but today, they've got to go… I hear Virginia may try to get rid of the tenure system. Wish us luck!

And godspeed and good luck to you in your endeavors. Thanks for sticking in there this long already. I'm sure many students have appreciated that, even if they haven't expressed it.

The people destroying this country are the do-gooders who believe everyone is inherently good and should be given xxx chances. Wake up people. Many people are born evil. They prey on innocent females, the elderly and our children every day not too mention that monster that slaughtered all those children last month.

    • ghostofmlg

      My sentiments exactly.

#26 Yes, the liberal media is exactly like this. Government control is wrong

    • dirtysteve

Liberal media? What you huffing son?

    • RobTalk

Seriously. What the fuck are you talking about? Narrow minded conservative media branches like Fox News do the oppressing based on their indoctrinated agenda. And you ending your statement with "government control is wrong" acting like you're on the other side of the fence shows how much of a nipple sucking slave you are to the oppressors. Fuck your mother.

      • dude

Fox News is in place so liberal media outlets have a clear villain to attack, and debate. Before Fox news who did they debate? Where were the right wing media outlets? Their views seems insane and ridiculously right wing cause that brings ratings. Crazy people tune in to have their beliefs renewed, and people with opposing views watch to argue, cause they give them plenty of ammo. The movie is always better when there is a clear bad guy, and you are always going to have the crazy assholes routing for the Vader, and The Empire over The rebels. They both attack third party candidates like Ron Paul and others because if they ever win, then the gig is up, no clear good guy or bad guy, instead of heated debates, fueled by emotion, we would start to have constructive conversations where both sides agree on some things but not all things. Then reason and calmness comes in and we start learning something, that would be terrible thought cause then they would have to change programing and we wouldn't listen to the lies of both sides.

      • JESSE

CNN, HLN, MSNBC, CurrentTV, the New York Times, the daily show, the Colbert report, ANY sitcom, any kids show, the LA Times, the Chicago Sun Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, TIME, The Nation, The Huffington Post, PBS, CBS Evening News, The View, any movie with George Clooney, any movie with Matt Damon, 9 out of 10 of every teacher I ever had, EVERY movie about Politics, Tosh.0 and any other stand-up comic, NPR, Air America, anything from the complete and utter liar Michael Moore, Morgan Spurlock… So you're right that 1 source for those brain-washed right-wingers is way too many. As an aside, i don't watch or listen to any of this shit, including Fox news. I am also in one of the lowest income brackets in the US so put your class xenophobia back in the deck. One final note: grow up. You don't see me insulting your mother when i climb off her do you?

"The trouble with quotes on the Internet is that you can never know if they are genuine."
    – Abraham Lincoln

    • but still

regardless of who said that, this is the ultimate goal in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

    • Underbaker

I get the jest (Lincoln and Internet), but still that is implying that the quote only has value if the person saying it is famous. I believe that regardless of the author any quote that makes you think about it is still worthy of consideration.

  • dirtysteve

A lot of repost here Chive, yer gettin fair lazy.

    • Gabe

You do realize that at the top he says that these pictures come from posts on the chive in the last year right? THese are all reposts dumbass

This from the guy who said above, "Liberal media? What are you huffing, son?". So, no big surprise that he can't (bother to) read or understand the intro…
