As many of you know, 23 year-old Chiver Dylan Smith drowned in a surfing accident in Puerto Rico over the Holidays. Dylan was named one of People Magazine’s Heroes of the Year after he used a homemade rope bridge and his surfboard to transport the six people out of danger as fires from a gas-line explosion spread across the flooded Rockaway Peninsula.
I’ve read many emails from those who knew Dylan and he exemplified everything it is to be a son, a friend, and a Chiver. You will be missed by many, Dylan. Not only in Belle Harbor, but by the entire Chive Community across the globe.
Rest In Peace
