Agate, or banded chalcedony, a type of microcristalline quartz (http://www.mindat.org/min-51.html)
it's such a beautiful rock "it's not a rock, it's a mineral -.-"
Classic breaking bad
Amazing post. Thanks for the wallpapers that my phone will only let me set a small portion as my home screen background
Alec, this is a bad ass post… Oh how I've missed you guys!
she be trippin'
One of the worst storms that I remember had these before it.
those clouds just wanna cause trouble
I believe these are Mammatus
in souther saskatchewan this summer there was an unreal storm that produced 2 tornadoes, and this is what the clouds looked like afterwards
All very impressive but seem pale in comparison to a photo of a well-shaped Chivette's Hump.
Yes, most things do Paul.
I hate all of your comments tv paul. You must hit refresh constantly. Fuck you.
#17 I think my brain just exploded
#23 Can't figure out what this is exactly
Looks like a river delta.
It's a glacial river running to the ocean.
#23 Is a river in Iceland running into the ocean.
false…..it's a used condom
One's a sea-melon, cousin to to the jellyfish, and the other's a tapeworm. Big ol' tapeworm by the look of it. That's a KPT scan of a human's large intestine.
I totally agree but where on earth can you see something like that? I want to scream FAKE because everything looks too close but maybe there really is somewhere that the sky looks that awesome!
A "thumbs-down" for you , sir. Now shit in your hat…
Get out of the fucking city!
That's the Milky Way in Canada
They sell Milky Ways in Canada?!?!
#17 being able to use this kind of power? mind blowing
If it would have been closer, say 10 thousands light years away, it would wipe the earth clean of life.
that may not be a bad thing
With that kind of power I could take over the tri-state area
#6 damn, nature!!
#25 I count 6 people
#17 And this is why I love astronomy, so many amazing and beautiful events beyond our comprehension!
#25 would love to see these in person one day.
#25 That's what she said. )
Now that's what I call beautiful wallpapers.
where's the ass and boobs?
#11 are mammatus clouds, literally "boob" clouds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammatus_clouds
And you're the ass, I guess.
Not in your bedroom, ever
Screw everything in just this one spot! #14
#1 #3 #5 and #13 great photos.
#5 And yet, Tuesdays remained 'Taco Tuesday'.
Damn Nature, you photoshopped!
#24 and several of the other photos belong to Mike Hollingshead. You can find his pretty damn awesome storm photography (and other nature goodies) at http://www.extremeinstability.com
He hasn't posted much in the last year, but what he has done is amazing.
