What you are saying might be true, except that one of, if not the most common answer given for joining the military is money for college. Many don't want to have to work 24/7while going to school full time, especially on the reserve/natl guard side. It's true many join active duty military because they feel they aren't ready, or don't want to go, but they might do college after getting out, and if not this is still a minority of military personnel overall http://enlist.military.com/68/top-10-reasons-to-j…

What we have here is called "tu quoque". Never said I failed to recognize that the original statement was anecdotal fallacy and neither have I said I accept it as truism. I just don't care about a random person on fb who can't even see their fault. I found it more important to point it out to someone who has a bigger chance of understanding the fault in his statement.and probably do better in the future.
