#10 looks a little menacing.
#14 makes me realize how much I need a vacation.
#16 where in the world is that beach ?
That's the Twelve Apostles, off the Victorian coast in Australia. One of them collapsed into the sea a few years ago.
There weren't even twelve to begin with.
#16 is the "Twelve Apostles" in Australia (state of Victoria), although there are less than 12 now due to collapse through erosion. Although havent' been, don't think you can get to the beach unless you bring your own climbing gear (or boat).
#1 ? Tasmania? (Australia) – Cradle Mountain area? not sure though may very well not be…
#12 wots left of the twelve apostles
#10 "Well this can't be good."
"Did you hear something?"
#1 Poolhouse, you're doing it wrong
#4 This bridge has a distinct one-at-a-time, if at all, feel to it.
and who took that picture?
#5, #18 and #19: wow, amazing photographs!
Wow, those pics are amazing. Thanks, Chive!
#3 Forrest moon of Endor
#9 Simpson's Beach – New Zealand, lots of crays and snapper out there. And love the Lion Brown, pity the gay dog.
#10 Thats just awesome
Where's #11 ?
agree, I need to know
looks a lot like victoria falls in africa.
Of course it's Victoria Falls! Duh Doy!
……….But, seriously, where is #6?
Niagara Falls, the Canadian side
#13 where are the dogsteps? no pawprints, where did the dog came from?
His path lies in plain sight, you are looking in the wrong place.
#8 Cleveland Ohio
best kept secret in america.
Nah, it's Scranton, PA.
#20 – want go there.
#2 Moral Orel?
#12 CG, why even post it?
How can you tell it's CGI? Seems real enough to me assuming a long exposure time to soften some edges up.
Well there's a lot there to question (starting with the snow in the front) but essentially it's the exposure (not in the way you were mentioning) – every single thing is well lit. I don't think you'll ever actually get that cabin light exposed and that many stars exposed together in real life (outside of an eye). Everything is also way too saturated – it almost looks like a cartoon. Last, and I'm not sure about this one, but there's way too much detail – no way everything would be in focus with an actual camera. Those stars are way too small for the amount of clear focus on the foreground.
#13 Mont St. Michele
sorry #15 is Mont St. Michele
Is #15 from Monty Python & the Holy Grail?
Well, there are French in there.
#2 I want to move there.
#4 nope. #5 is pretty cool.
#2 – where is this place? Need to visit!
Dolomite Mountains – Italy
http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/hq-na… is Lake Obersee
