A cave so big it has its own jungle (18 HQ Photos)

In some of the most difficult terrain in Vietnam is Son Doong cave. Only recently discovered, Son Doong is the largest cave in the world (sorry Deer Cave in Malaysia).

Rimstone Pools and cave Pearls. Pearls happen as calcium carbonate deposits around a central nucleus of some kind (usually sand or something like that). The pools form as the same water collects and precipitates a rim of calcium carbonate around the pool, ever growing.

Trust me, I'm a geologist.

This wasn't recently discovered, there was a special on it on Nat Geo about 6 months ago, and they were re-traversing it because the first guys got to the end and hit a 90 foot wall they couldn't get up. So there is more to this they just need to figure out how to scale that wall.
