All that metal would effect the internal antennae, you would have a cold brick in your pocket that couldn't receive calls.

That looks pretty cool actually. This dude could make some serious cash customizing phones. But as Yep pointed out, the metal case could affect the internal antenna.

Why so much hate for this? The first bit of text tells you everything you need to know about it. "A cheap Chinese cell phone becomes a brass and copper work of art." As a work of art, it doesn't need to function beyond just looking nice. I'm not personally all about the steampunk style, sometimes it works, sometimes not. That said however, the artist transformed that phone into something vastly different and it looks interesting. Good job sir.

Sorry it's a fail. Not nearly enough moving parts steampunk. It should have been rotary dial and on the back a compass or a sun dial or an anemometer. But otherwise it's a great prototype.

It's a movie prop… I doubt it was meant to be fully functional (take calls), but still inspirational craftsmanship…
