    Becasue the car went over the OTHER side of the road. That's also why there's not a big fence to stop it. The car was pushed into the brachiosaurus paddock, not the T-Rex paddock.

    It's the other side of the fence that has the huge drop off.

    No it doesn't, if you watch closely it clearly goes through the opening in the fence the Rex tore apart, you can see its the only open fence part and it's mangled. Plus you have to remember that Lex and Alan were facing the other way, but the car gets spun around. It's just a massive plot hole.
