theCHIVE surprises the unofficial Chicago meetup (50 HQ Photos)

A couple weeks ago it was brought to my attention that a very large unofficial Chive meetup was brewing in Chicago.

Chivers and Chivettes were flying in from as far away as England for the event. We always try to support Chivers getting together to raise a glass. For us, that's what the site is all about. So at the last minute Mac, Alec, and myself hopped on a plane headed East to surprise the Chivers. The Chivers had a group photo in front of 'The Bean' in Millenium Park and hopped cruised over to John Barleycorn in Wrigleyville from there.

We rolled up to the back door and headed to the top floor of Barleycorn's. The photos below show what happened next. For those in the room that night, it was one of the greatest nights we've ever had, so much energy in the room. Thanks to Seth Dolezal for putting it all together as well as Barleycorn's for not only holding an amazing meetup, but for working with us to help surprise everybody. Thanks to Angela Garbot Photography for the amazing images.

We'd especially like to thank all the Chivers for their kind words. Chivers really are the best kind of people. Whenever I talk to the staff after these events they all say the same thing, "I can't believe how NICE everybody is."
