For twelve years, Bill Murray's charity has held the Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament. Thousands of people descend upon St. Augustine, Florida for a tournament that plays out more like a massive block party than stuffy golf outing.
Murray and his brothers support a different charity every year. This year all the proceeds from the event benefit the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The goal of the Foundation is to provide fire departments with badly-needed life saving equipment they might not otherwise be able to afford.
A few weeks ago, the board members of the Murray Bros. Golf Charity gathered together to figure out how to make the 13th Annual tournament go really BIG. Bill Murray had an idea, 'If we want to raise some serious money for the firefighters this year, bring in the Chivers.' - So just about the highest compliment an online community can earn I guess.
To that end, theCHIVE was asked to be the lead sponsor for the entire event this year (holy shit). As you know, theCHIVE has a long and successful tradition of supporting our Firefighters and EMS responders.
I was contacted by the Tournament Director of Murray Bros. Golf, Chris Seeley. Chris asked us to design a special, limited edition t-shirt not only for the event, but also for the Chivers to purchase. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to charity.
The idea we came up with is based on one of our favorite Murray photos. We call it The William Murray (around the office we've lovingly nicknamed it, Zero F@cks Given). The limited edition shirts will be available this Tuesday April 2nd at Noon PST on theCHIVERY along with 500 SIGNED Bill Murray posters created by artist David Johnson. The poster is appropriately named Cinderella Story.
We can't tell you how excited we are to be a part of this.
On a personal note, I have to thank all the Chivers for making this possible. Bill has met hundreds of Chivers over the past couple years and I'm told y'all are quick to bring up theCHIVE's charitable acts with Bill, and he was listening. We're about to get a lot of worthy people the help they need because of you. Let's bring the hard rain next week.

We’re flying to St. Augustine next week to play in the tournament and present a check to the firefighters on behalf of all theCHIVERS. Don’t worry, we’ll bring you plenty of photos of our antics. Mac was even allowed to come, I guess the TSA made some kinda’ special travel exemption. He was placed on the VIP no-fly list early last year for reasons unknown.
Please note: this is a private charity event and not open to the public, sorry.

UPDATE: I’m already getting emails from Chivers asking if they can donate directly to the Murray Bros. Foundation (you guys continue to impress). You can do that right here.
