Last weekend all theCHIVERS traveled to Boston for our largest meetup to date. Most of us had never been to Boston and we can’t tell you how much we appreciated your kindess and hospitality. I stayed most of the week in Boston to soak up as much of the culture there as possible and I can honestly say I’ve never partied that hard. The Irish drinker in me thanks you.
I tried to take as many photos of our Boston adventure as I could so here we go…
My first morning in Boston I woke to do something I’d been looking forward to for a long time, meet Dic Donohue. Dic was critically injured by the terrorists in the Watertown shootout. Thanks to the heroism of his fellow officers, Dic survived a gunshot to his femoral artery.
Two weeks ago, we held a created limited edition Boston Strong KCCO’s to raise money for Dic. The Chivers bought up the shirts in minutes and I presented a check to Dic for $22,000 on behalf of the Chivers. Dic is a stand-up guy with some amazing friends. We all sat around telling jokes and generally making fun of each other, it’s the Boston way. Dic was about to go kayaking for the first time, part of his intense rehab. It was 90 degrees and sunny. Dic joked, “the SPF # for my level of paleness right now doesn’t exist.”
Dic’s best friend, Matt Donavan told me later, “So many people have stepped up to help Dic, but none bigger than theCHIVE and all the Chivers. Thank you.”
Dic has a long road ahead of him. I’d like to thank all the Chivers for allowing me to represent y’all and meet Dic. He’s a hero and an inspiration.
Thanks to Dave Duff for the private tour of Sam Adams brewery. Sorry about drinking/breaking everything.
Patty and I went to Woody’s L Street Tavern in Southie for the Bruins game…
We met tons of Chivers. They got Patty catastrophically fucked up. Patty would like to thank all the Southie Chivers for a fitful night of sleep on the hotel bathroom floor.
We got invited to the American Craft Beer Festival for… beer

Chivette Emily Fesette arrived and basically just put up with us.
