The Chive Fund donates $10,000 to help veterans affected by the Oklahoma tornadoes
Over the past month, I’ve spoken with many volunteers helping the relief effort in Oklahoma City. One volunteer worker reminded me how important it to create a sustained charity effort.
“When a natural disaster happens, after a while interest wanes, it’s nobody’s fault, it’s just what happens. But the disaster areas still need help and helpers. We need torchbearers, good samaritans with follow through.”
We’re committed to helping the residents of Oklahoma City long-term. To that end, the Chive Fund has now donated $10,000 to the American Legion National Emergency Fund, providing emergency assistance to veterans affected by the Oklahoma tornadoes. So far, the American Legion has provided much-needed assistance to over 200 veterans and their families. We’re told many applications for help are still coming in.
Our service men and women are the core of theCHIVE and we will always step to the plate when it comes to our active duty military and veterans.
We have so much more from Chive Charities to tell you about including a little boy who needs our help and a donation we made from recent t-shirt sales to the Colorado wildfire victims. More on all that soon!
