We’re going back to a Bona Fide Cali (54 photos)
Here at theCHIVE, we will always have a special place in our hearts for California. It’s home to some of our favorite Chivettes and was our stomping grounds for five years. While we might have relocated to Austin, California will definitely be in good hands with our next Bona Fide Chapter,
Chive on California.
Chive on Cali is the result of a merge between Chive on LA and Chive on San Diego. LA was established in May of 13′ as a means to raise money for the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings. Chive on San Diego followed suit shortly after. Since then, both chapters have put in incredible work and made some huge strides in their respective communities.
The first Chive On San Diego meetup was held at Coaster Saloon in Mission Beach. Over 700 Chivers and Chivettes came out to raise $4,130 for Chive Charities.
After their first meet up, you couldn’t keep them apart, becoming one of the closest groups in the country.
Chive on LA had a similarly successful start – but it was their Chivetoberfest that caught our attention.
The crew partnered with Alpine Village to throw one of the biggest parties ever and absolutely crushed the Chive Charities donation record with over $17,000.
If you’ve ever been to a SoCal meetup, odds are you’ve thrown a few back with Michael, the Chiver in the front.
Michael suffers from both Sarcoid Myopathy and Neurosarcoidosis but has never let that get in the way of attending California’s unofficial meetups.
He’s a true Chiver and one of the best from Chive Nation.
The admins for Chive on California have been working on a way to help Michael, and this weekend, they’re ready to work.
For the chapter’s first
Bona Fide event, Chive On California is throwing a two-day rager at Harrah’s in San Diego to raise funds for Michael.
Chive Charities also wanted to help out, which you’ll read about next week.
A portion of proceeds from each Chive on California shirt sold will go towards Michael’s campaign as well.
