Diamond is an 8-year-old pit bull who’d lived a pretty rough life. Her ears had been ripped off and her fur ruined by battery acid. She arrived at Fulton County Animal Services in Atlanta last summer with little hope for adoption. Neely Conway, a volunteer, says she was “immediately brought to tears,” when she saw Diamond and knew that something had to be done. She began looking for rescue groups to get Diamond into a foster home.
“We were having trouble, and understandably… This was an 8 year old abused pit pull who looked very scary.” Conway says. She ended up writing a blog post about the dog and sharing it on Reddit.
Eventually, Melinda McGuire saw the blog post and was grabbed by the heart. Within an hour of meeting Diamond, Melinda was finalizing the adoption.
