Height is one of the few physical characteristics that most people feel comfortable commenting on – even to complete strangers – presumably because unlike bingo wings, hair-lips, or hump-backs, tallness is generally considered an enviable attribute.
It should come as no surprise then that a photo of an exceptionally tall Cairns policeman standing next to a diminutive colleague has gone viral after it was shared on Queensland Police’s Facebook page.
The picture, which shows Constables John and Monique standing back-to-back, was “liked” more than 13,000 times in less than hour after being posted online earlier today; John, who stands at an impressive 206cm (6’9″), cartoonishly dwarfs his colleague, who stands at a mere 155cm (5’1″).
“Police come in all shapes and sizes,” the caption on the photo reads.
“Regardless of their height difference, this dynamic duo will still be out on patrol policing the streets of Cairns and responding to violent and emergent situations on a daily basis, and that’s not a tall story.”
The picture now has almost 42,000 likes, and has been shared more than 4000 times.
