On Nov. 22 during the Cardinals v. Bengals game, one of the leagues best took a moment to honor a USAF veteran.
Colonel James Ballard served in the Air Force during World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War. The Cardinals receiver made sure to remove his glove before showing his respect for the war veteran.
Colonel Ballard’s grandson, Chris Ballard, sent his thanks to the Cardinals for cheering up his grandfather during a tough time in his life.
“He was smiling non-stop the entire night,” Chris said. “He just lost his bride of 64 years in September, so this whole experience to brighten his day was beyond words.”
The Ballard family are season ticket holders for the Cardinals and I’m pretty sure after this, they will remain fans for years to come.
