Remember this video of 12 year old Markus Stewart from Abbotsford, B.C. practicing his goalie skills on a puddle?
Turns out, there’s more to the story than just a kid, some equipment and a puddle.
Ever since he was young, it’s been Markus’ dream to play hockey, however, when he was small, he was diagnosed with epilepsy, which means no contact sports.
Now that he’s older, his condition has improved and he’s able to play ball hockey, but his true love is being on the ice. But as we all know, organized hockey is extremely expensive; something his parents can’t afford. So currently, Markus plays ball when he can, and dresses up in his equipment and tries to play for fun, but pickup games for kids don’t happen all that often.
