Clever fiance gives his Potterhead girlfriend a creative proposal (10 Photos)
Anyone can put together a run of the mill Harry Potter themed proposal with wands and Gryffindor cloaks, but it takes a truly dedicated individual to give his future fiancé the chance to act like The Boy Who Lived himself and go on her very own Horcrux-seeking journey. He even stayed in tune with the actual horcruxes used in the books.
To refresh your memory, a Horcrux is a powerful object in which a wizard or witch has hidden a fragment of his or her soul for the purpose of maintaining immortality. The more you create, the better chance you have of truly living forever. Or, in this case, Daniel being together forever with Raven.
First up on the scavenger hunt was a clue (written on Harry Potter novel pages) leading to Tom riddle’s diary, which reads:
“Dropped in a bag unbeknownst to the owner, find the diary of the boy or make this quest all the more slower.”
According to Raven, this led to one of her “thousand messy bags.”
Inside of one of those bags was her very own mini Horcrux, and another clue, which reads:
“Hidden among all the storage as filthy as a shack, it’s never been cleaned and hidden upon a wooden rack.”
Where to? The garage!
After finding another gem, the ring Horcrux, the third clue read:
“Look to the largest body of water inside, to get one step closer to your ride. You must drink the potion, and then grab your guide.”
What better proposal potion than a glass of wine?
After drinking the wine, Raven found a locket Horcrux with a second clue written in “ancient runes” that Raven had to decipher. It read:
“Stored in a safe and locked place, be sure to bring your guide. This door will only open to the proper hide.”
Raven said, “After deciphering the clue, and remembering that only Gringotts Goblins can open the vaults, I realized the Hufflepuff Cup had to be in his gun case, which only opened to his fingerprints.”
She was right. Along with the 4th Horcrux, the Hufflepuff Cup, there was, of course, another set of instructions that led her outside to find the 5th. The set of clues with it said, “Call the beast to come here and see what he hides, never leaving the master’s side.” In the books, the “beast” is Nagini, Voldemort’s snake. What’s the “beast” in this journey?
An adorable dog, of course.
After the last clue was found that led to a special edition of “The Half Blood Prince,” the Unbreakable Vow was offered up, and of course she accepted. Congrats to the happy couple!
Oh, and 1,000 points for Gryffindor, of course.
