Leave it to the most popular social media app to finally make a big mistake. With recent successful updates such as support for multiple accounts, and web notifications, Instagram pushed the envelope even further with its most recent update. IG is ditching its chronological order in which your timeline usually appears, and is now letting an algorithm decide what’s most relevant to show you. We can thank Facebook for that. But I wouldn’t be too worried, as most of us who use the app aren’t rich, attention-thirsty celebs. You may have already noticed, but all the change has done so far is cause desperate bloggers, brands, and ‘IG famous celebs’ to post these ridiculous “turn on notification” images. This will allow their accounts to be relevant in your feed. Imagine the horror of not being able to show your bare ass to someone who hasn’t turned on their notification. That’s not a world I want to live in. So if you still want to see everyone’s regular posted pictures, I recommend you turn on notifications for those people you absolutely can’t be without. Or you can do nothing at all, but be warned that you may be missing out on bland IG model selfie vids.
