Ohio University has plenty of reasons to be haunted. It’s the site of the former Athens Lunatic Asylum, AND it was built on top of an old Native American burial ground. Perhaps the scariest place in the whole school is room 428 of Wilson Hall. Supposedly a female resident in the 1970s lost her mind and tried to practice astral projection, a method where the human spirit separates from the body and travels on its own.
Her friends went for help, but before they could get back she had thrown herself out the window. The room is now sealed, and legend has it that it was deemed uninhabitable after objects constantly flew off shelves and smashed into walls, doors opened and closed violently, and sightings of the ghost itself.
