So when Comment1000 released its top 1000 most commented on websites, I was happy to see us getting recognized as the 133rd most commented on website in the world. theCHIVE averages over 10,000 comments a day and over 200 comments per post. Those are unreal stats btw…
But when I saw websites like #85 Gothamist ranked above us, I knew something was amiss. I quickly started to realize the rankings are wildly inaccurate. Nothing against Gothamist but they have few posts that ever reach 30 comments total, most only have 7-8 comments, and they are using the exact same commenting platform as we are.
I think these Comment1000 guys just got in a room and ballparked it, ‘You feeling what I’m feeling here? Yeah, like 133rd sounds right.’
Commenting shouldn’t be a competition. But I’ve always been competitive about weird stuff. I once bet my brother I could eat more Swiss Miss hot chocolate powder packets than he could. (Do not EVER attempt that.)
I had an idea.
