Last week we told you about a friendly bet placed by Atlanta-based Sweetwater Brewery and Boston-based Samuel Adams Brewery in which SweetWater has to name a beer after the Patriots if the Falcons lose and Samuel Adams has to name a beer after the Falcons if the Patriots lose. It looks like that bet wasn’t forgotten as the two breweries got into a heated exchange during the Super Bowl. It was all fun and games, but it still had some zingers.
A low blow by Sam Adams who point out that the Falcons have no Super Bowl championships to speak of.
And then SweetWater got a little cocky once the Falcons got a lead.
And even threw in a hard jab after the Tom Brady pick-6 in the 2nd quarter.
And they continued to gloat as the Falcons increased the lead to 25.
Sam Adams seemed to be getting nervous.
But then Tom and the Pats started to show some life.
And SweetWater was getting nervous.
Then the Patriots won it in overtime and Sam Adams began to celebrate.
It looked like SweetWater might back out of the deal…
But it seems like they’re going to be good sports about it and pay up.
Good for everyone involved! We’ll be sure to keep you updated when SweetWater comes out with their Samuel Adams beer.
