The thing we forget about most when it comes to history and historical figures, is that they were just like us. They cracked bad jokes, had weird sexual fetishes and were assholes to one another. You know it, I know it, we all know it. So why aren’t we talking about it?
When it comes to history books, historians and the teachers whose job it is to tell us this stuff, it’s all sanitized and noble. It means that if we want the truth, we need to turn to alternative sources to find it. Sources such as Reddit. Lucky for us, someone asked the all-important question: “Historians of Reddit, what are some NSFW rated facts that aren’t often taught in history class?”
