Stay out of the crease, and don’t give the goalie a snow shower
Goalies do not like to be fucked with, especially in ice hockey. If you take an extra tap at their pads after the whistle blows or give them a little snow shower, a ‘brouhaha’ or a ‘donnybrook’ may ensue.
Taking cheap shots at star players
Most star players aren’t very physical and need to keep as healthy as possible to keep up their scoring. So, when a player on the other team goes after said player and nails him to the boards, ‘The Code’ dictates that heads must roll. Not literally, of course.
Don’t throw punches after the fight is broken up
As much as fighting in hockey may be about getting ‘payback’ there is still a level of respect to be given and received. If something happens that warrants a fight, drop the gloves, have the tussle, then leave it at that. Throwing punches after a fight is deemed finished is just asking for trouble.
