It’s insane how much history is just rotting and corroding away in the rural areas of the country. Once upon a time, brave people came to this country, when it was nothing, and built farms and homes and tried to make a living from it. When things got tough, they hunkered down and did the best they could. Now, over a century later, you can find old homesteads, farms and silos dotting the landscape, just falling down. Lucky for this place, an Imgurian named BlacksmithSam, found this old house and turned it into something awesome.
This original structure was built in 1833 by a man named Ephram Woodworth, when he heard that the US government was planning to build a road between Milwaukee and Green Bay. He found a tract of land no one had claimed, and build a homestead for himself. This was his original home, that he and his family lived in, while he was building a larger, ‘fancier’ home for them.
This is how it looked when BlacksmithSam and his wife purchased the property in March of 2016.
