Being Sleep Drunk
You know that feeling you get when you’ve been awake for way too long? It’s kind of like being drunk. You can barely walk straight, start seeing double, and you just want to hit the hay. However, did you know that you can achieve the same feeling when you’ve slept too much? This has got to be some sort of joke, surely you can’t sleep too much. It turns out you can, and we’ve probably all experienced it at some point. It’s that awful, groggy feeling you get when you awaken and don’t know which way is up. This is the result of oversleeping, thus causing your brain to become confused and leaving you in an awkward groggy state. The term is ‘sleep drunk’ and it is actually pretty dangerous, especially if you are hitting the road. Research suggests that driving while sleep drunk really hazardous, so, ‘sober up’ before you drive if you’re feeling really groggy after a long nap!
