There’s A Weird Connection Between ‘Home Alone’ And ‘Friends’ You Definitely Never Noticed

Other than both being beloved cultural touchstones of the 1990s, Friends and Home Alone have nothing in common right? Wrong! It turns out the two share one very tiny detail that no one in the right mind would have ever noticed… until someone did.

If you managed to watch Friends until the final season in 2004, you may remember Monica and Chandler buying a house in the suburbs:

The episode is called “The One Where Chandler Gets Caught,” if you’re curious.

Some eagle-eyed Home Alone/Friends fans noticed something a little peculiar in the background:

If you’re not interested in the video, it turns out the view from the windows of Monica and Chandler’s house is the EXACT SAME view from the McCallister’s house in Home Alone meaning…

Monica and Chandler bought the McCallister’s house??

Not really, it turns out they just used the same footage of the Illinois neighborhood where Home Alone was filmed.

Still, it would have been pretty great to get a Home Alone/Friends mashup where Ross has to protect the house from burglars.

Make it happen anyway!
