When film started, it was a visual medium. It was all about the images, how they were put together and the story they told. Once sound got added to film, it became a whole different animal. There was so much more you could do with sound, music and even the words used by the characters. But only the most skilled of filmmakers can find a way to tell their story, in the old-fashioned, visual way.
These are probably some of the better films out there that rely on what they’re showing, and not telling, and require some serious talent on the part of the actors, cinematographers and directors.
