The docuseries sets out to uncover what really went on behind the infamous “Pizza Bomber” case. At approximately 2:20 p.m. on August 28, 2003, pizza delivery man Brian Wells attempted to rob a PNC Bank in Erie, Pennsylvania. He handed a note to the teller demanding $250,000 in cash, but only received $8,702.
However, what shocked the country about the bank heist was that Wells had a bomb locked around his neck and was apparently being forced to carry out the robbery in order to unlock it. Wells was caught by police, but the device went off before the bomb squad could arrive, killing him. Authorities began a manhunt to arrest those responsible, but the new Netflix docuseries dives deeper into the conspiracy and murders than ever before.
