UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who reached out! We found an architect who is going to help with our next project. Exciting things coming soon!
theCHIVE community continues to be one of the most generous on the planet. We are consistently humbled by Chivers’ eagerness to give. Here at Chive Charities, people are often asking what else they can do to help beyond just donating to the Chive Fund.
Without giving away too much, we have selected the next Chive Charities recipient and you're going to be blown away! Before we can move forward, we need an architect in the Los Angeles area who is willing to help us determine the scope of the project. It's nothing big, just a field trip to the recipient's house to assess the scope of the donation. If you are an architect willing to help us out, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for continually inspiring us with your relentless generosity!

That's us up there, celebrating reaching Billy's $37,000 goal. Little did we know that was only the beginning.
Yesterday, we posted a story about Billy Wynne, a helicopter paramedic who was the lone survivor of a horrible helicopter crash in Oklahoma City.
The Chive Fund set the pace by donating $85,000 to build Billy a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool for his intensive rehab.
We then asked theCHIVE community to donate $37,000 to help buy Billy at Toyota FJ Cruiser.
This is where things got interesting.
Within minutes, the Michigan Chivers had already donated the hand controls and donations were starting to roll in.
It's a fascinating thing, the way the Chivers donate to charity campaigns but the mentality that drives it you'll find nowhere else on earth: The Chivers smashed the goal within minutes and, once the goal was reached, the donations begin to actually accelerate.
How fast? Let's look at the math. Within only 7 hours you had tripled the goal. That breaks down to $264 every minute with an average donation of $26. That's lightning fast. You've now hit the $130,000 mark and changed a family's life forever.
You've all once again put yourself on a national stage and delivered when it mattered most.
Still plenty of time to donate.
Well done, Chivers, well done.

Here at Chive Charities we've ramped up our charitable efforts on a scale we could never have envisioned even a year ago. But so far this year we haven't yet turned the Chivers loose on a real time, blow-the-doors-and-windows-out charity flash campaign y'all have become famous for.
All that is about to change.
In just a couple hours we're going to bring some big time help to a very worthy individual. And we're going to need your help. Today is the big show. Stay tuned.

After the 9/11 attacks on our country, Nancy Carbone created Friends of Firefighters to provide therapy and emotional counseling for firefighters who not only survived, but also those who helped in the aftermath of the attacks. Some of whom (quite a few actually) would later develop PTSD symptoms.
But as time passes and memories fade, so do contributions. Often times with charity work, you need a charity committed to helping over the long term and Friends of Firefighters is just such an entity. And we all know theCHIVERS have serious followthrough as well...
Nancy confided in us that she was scrambling for funding and didn't know what to do. She was almost $50,000 short of her budget. Without those funds, Nancy would be forced to close some of the critical programs which were just making strides with the first responders.
Here at theCHIVE, we are committed to helping charities that help with PTSD. We recently donated $40,000 to the Combat Stress Recovery Program and today Chive Charities is proud to announce a $50,000 donation to Friends of Firefighters.
This website would be nothing without those that serve our country. Y'all are the core of theCHIVE and we will continue stepping to the plate to do whatever we can to provide support on your behalf.

As many of you know theCHIVE has deep roots in the Windy City - CHIcago and VEnice. Last week, Chive On Chicago threw a CHIVErish party for charity, raising nearly $20,000 for some great causes. Half the funds went to Chive Charities' next recipient and the other half to the 100 Club of Chicago, which helps provide for the families of police officers, firefighters and paramedics who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Every week, there are dozens of unofficial meetups across the country and there's a charitable element to nearly every one, Chivers supporting local causes and people in need. How all this RAK'ing happened - and on this scale - I'll never quite comprehend. It's making the world a better place. Thank you.
Here at theCHIVE, Dave Welch, our community manager keeps me closely posted on all the events. Dave's a good dude and I'd consider him a role model but I've seen him drink tequila during a full moon. You can follow Dave on the Chive Nation's Twitter for all the info you need on meetups in your neck of the woods.
Good work, Chicago. We're on our way to Gainesville right now. See y'all tonight. Drinks are on me.

theCHIVE community has become famous as “easily the most generous community on the web today.” Our flash charity campaigns have garnered national recognition time and time again. With all of this growth, the extremely small crew at Chive Charities has not been able to keep up, so Chive Charities is hiring a copywriter and a grant assistant.
As copywriter, you will help create the compelling and inspiring stories of our chosen recipients. You will also update the chivecharities.org website and newsletter with recipient news to keep Chive Nation well informed of the lives they have helped change. Needless to say, you need to be a badass writer as well as someone people feel free opening up to.
As grant assistant, you will work with medical professionals, vendors and our recipients to coordinate outgoing grant payments. You need to be extremely organized and friendly.
