    Ladies and Gentlemen of the Chivery,

    I am aware that this is an unorthodox comment. Much different from usual “look at numburr six, shes hawt” but for me – and I assume – many other Chivers, feel theChive is more than just a website, it’s a community. I have been Chiving since June 2010 myself and I feel that in those 10 months, I have developed a relationship with this community. It seems so hard to believe that I have only been Chiving for 10 months when so many pictures and great content has been posted. Nearly everyday, I come back to see what the latest post is. Sometimes I’ll even stay up to the wee hours of the night just to see one last post. The Chive satisfies more than just my teenage libido, though. As far back as I can remember, you’ve been posting thousands of hilarious photos to the Daily Afternoon randomness. The consistency of hilarity and punctuality is outstanding. So much has changed for me this year but the Chive has always been available. If I had to use two words to describe theChive, it would be “sexy”, and “awesome”. Nearly every post has been visited by me and I have had many laughs.

    And for that, we thank you.

        Thanks for your insight and I completely agree with you!

        I have pretty big plans for the future with a career in government so posing for Playboy is not going to be a wise decision. I'm shooting for a few other companies so I'd rather just stick to swimwear and lingerie, keeping it as classy as possible. I decided a few days ago that I will not be posing for Playboy pretty much for the reasons that you mentioned – it's not a stepping stone but a destination, like another Chiver stated. 🙂

Also, as a veteran of the DC modus operandi, I would encourage you to keep your personal life to yourself. Be a drone until the right opportunity knocks. The DC bureaucracy is not kind to innovators or thinkers. Unless you see the chance to move both up and out then keep a low profile. And never, never accept so much as a free lunch from anyone. There is no such thing as free in Del Centro.

              That's phenomenal advice and I'm glad that I checked this post one final time, only to stumble upon your insightful words. Thank you for your honesty and your wisdom.

              It's one thing to have family and friends say "No, Playboy will ruin your federal career goals", but it's certainly another to have someone familiar with a similar (presumably) line of work advise against it as well. I have been told by many of my past colleagues that no matter how creative or free-thinking you may be, it does not have a place in D.C., and I fully appreciate and expect that to be the case. Thank you for sharing your experience and pointers with me!

              I do have a blog that has a bit of personal information on it (i.e. discussions of past events and things like that), but I try to keep it mostly censored since I know Uncle Sam and his mother's brother's sister's uncle can see all that I have to write. Hopefully modeling (non-nude) and things such as a blog won't kill my chances… that would be quite devastating….

              But, regardless, thank you again for your advice! It certainly is deeply appreciated. 🙂

                You are quite welcome. I like to see bright people get ahead, and our government could certainly use some more bright people like yourself.

                I would have to disagree about creativity and free-thinking not having a place in DC, but finding that place and insulating yourself enough to make your ideas work is not for the timid. Given that you are both bright and beautiful, you will find a host of petty enemies in your path no matter which way you turn, so I will assume you are not timid. I would recommend The 48 Laws Of Power as a must-read before you descend into DC. Also, think very carefully about who you put down as a reference on your SF86, especially if you are trying for SCI, or some other SAP. They will check out your references before they talk to them about you. When they run a moment of truth event on you, stick to your story. If you said on the SF86 that you don't do drugs then don't change your story when the first bit of presure is applied.
