Last week, I was sent an image of an athlete on a frozen track standing next to her sled, which had a Bill Murray sticker on it. Curious, I asked for a photo of the girl. Her name is Megan Dovell. In some fashion, Megan has spent most of her life on the ice, she even played Varsity on her High School men’s hockey team in Duluth.
After playing hockey in college, Megan discovered bobsled and loved the speed but she wanted to go even faster. This led Megan to Skeleton. Skeleton is a winter sport where a single athlete missiles down a frozen track experiencing 5 g forces at speeds exceeding 80 mph. This sport takes balls – I mean – you get what I mean.
The 28 year-old is hoping to make the 2018 US Olympic team and we’re big fans over here. Frankly, anybody as cute as Megan who is willing to hurl herself down an icy hill face first, repping Bill Murray, has my utmost respect and we wish her the best of luck!
Say hello to Megan on her Instagram!
